POSITION SUMMARY:

The Partnership and Grants Officer will support the organization's resource mobilization and strategic growth efforts through the identification of funding opportunities, development and submission of high-quality proposals, donor engagement, and management of strategic partnerships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Identify, track, and assess funding opportunities from institutional donors, foundations, corporations, embassies, UN agencies, and other funding sources.
  • Coordinate the development and submission of high-quality concept notes, proposals, grant applications, and expressions of interest.
  • Lead proposal writing efforts and ensure timely submission of donor applications.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive funding pipeline and grants calendar.
  • Support the implementation of fundraising and resource mobilization strategies.
  • Monitor donor trends, funding priorities, and emerging opportunities relevant to refugee and humanitarian programming.
  • Coordinate proposal development processes by gathering and consolidating inputs from program, finance, monitoring and evaluation, safeguarding, and operations teams.
  • Maintain and update the Grant Management System (GMS) and grant tracking tools.
  • Support grant startup processes and donor compliance requirements following successful awards.
  • Monitor proposal and donor reporting deadlines and ensure timely submissions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective donors.
  • Develop donor engagement plans and support donor cultivation initiatives.
  • Prepare donor briefing materials, presentations, reports, and communication materials.
  • Coordinate donor meetings, site visits, and stakeholder engagement events.
  • Serve as a liaison between donors and internal teams to facilitate effective communication and timely responses.
  • Support donor reporting processes and ensure consistent communication on program achievements and impact.
  • Identify, assess, and cultivate strategic partnerships with NGOs, community-based organizations, academic institutions, faith-based organizations, private sector actors, and humanitarian stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain a partnership database to track engagement opportunities, collaboration initiatives, and follow-up actions.
  • Support the negotiation and drafting of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), partnership agreements, and collaboration frameworks.
  • Coordinate partner mapping and due diligence processes in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Facilitate consortium and partnership development for joint funding opportunities.
  • Represent the organization in relevant coordination forums, donor meetings, partnership platforms, and sector working groups.
  • Strengthen collaboration and information sharing with humanitarian actors operating in refugee contexts.
  • Collaborate with the MEAL Officer on internal and external communication for the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in international relations, Development Studies, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Marketing, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in grants management, proposal development, resource mobilization, fundraising, partnerships, or donor relations within the humanitarian, development, or human rights sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing and successful proposal development for institutional and private donors.
  • Experience coordinating and submitting funding applications and grant proposals.
  • Knowledge of donor regulations and requirements of major donors.
  • Strong written communication, editing, and proposal writing skills with the ability to produce high-quality donor submissions.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, networking, and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, research, organizational, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and experience using Grant Management Systems (GMS), donor tracking platforms
  • Knowledge of the Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) framework.
  • Understanding of Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), safeguarding, and Anti-Fraud principles.
