Job vacancies at CDRI - Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure

CDRI promotes rapid development of resilient infrastructure to respond to the Sustainable Development Goals’ imperatives of expanding universal access to basic services, enabling prosperity and decent work.

The following are CDRI’s strategic priorities:

  • Technical Support and Capacity-building: This includes disaster response and recovery support; innovation, institutional and community capacity-building assistance; and standards and certification.
  • Research and Knowledge Management: This includes collaborative research; global flagship reports; and a global database of infrastructure and sector resilience.
  • Advocacy and Partnerships: This includes global events and initiatives; marketplace of knowledge financing and implementation agencies; and dissemination of knowledge products.

Additionally our work is spread accross a multitude of areas, ranging from legislation, governance and policy to recovery and construction and many other areas in between. Through our community based approach, we aim to empower these communities to take action and improve structural resilience against potential natural disasters.

Some of our main programs are the following:

  • Urban Infrastructure Resilience Programme (UIRP) - The UIRP aims to support cities across 30 CDRI member countries which are Low- and Middle-Income Countries and Small Island Developing States, in enhancing the resilience of their urban infrastructure against climate and disaster risks. The First Call for Proposals responds to the demand from member countries for technical assistance to ensure resilient infrastructure investments.
  • Infrastructure For Resilient Island States (IRIS) - IRIS was jointly launched at the World Leaders Summit at COP26 in Glasgow, UK, by the Prime Ministers of India, UK, Australia, Fiji, Jamaica and Mauritius. IRIS is a dedicated initiative that aims to support Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in achieving sustainable development through a systematic approach to resilient, sustainable, and inclusive infrastructure.
