Overview of position

Role objectives

The Consultant will have the following responsibilities:

·In coordination with the international consultant, conduct desk research on legal provisions related to migrant regularization in Libya, pertaining to the following areas: international normative and legal obligations; overview of labour laws, social protection and employment regulations; procedures in place concerning regularization; access to legal assistance; coordination and coordination procedures.

·Mobilize relevant contacts at institutional levels and conduct interviews if deemed necessary.

·Contribute to drafting sections of the legal review.

·Support with oral presentations of findings and recommendations.

Overall, it is expected that the total length of this assignment will be throughout 3 months. The consultant will be responsible for providing the following deliverables.

Total payment (4,500 USD) will be provided following the completion of the above-mentioned deliverables, following the breakdown mentioned in the table.

* This position is a home-based consultancy.

Payments is subject to approval of submitted deliverables as per this Terms of Reference.

  • The consultant is expected to submit a Request for Payment form (Annex 1) for each payment.

The consultant must adhere to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Data Protection Principles (IN/138) and maintain confidentiality.

The consultant will be responsible to follow IOM writing guidelines and latest glossaries in all given assignments for accurate translation.

The appointment is subject to funding confirmation.

Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment, accreditation, any residency or visa requirements, and security clearances.
