Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead the operational management of Brave Generation. They will oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient implementation of existing programs and driving the development of new initiatives to support our mission. We are looking for a strategic thinker with strong operational, financial, and management skills, as well as a deep commitment to our cause.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Manage non-programmatic functions like finance, communications, and development. Lead the development of new initiatives.

  • Fundraising: Build and maintain donor relationships, develop proposals, and secure funding from institutional and individual donors.

  • Grant Management: Oversee the grant lifecycle, ensuring compliance and timely reporting.

  • Database Management: Track and manage donations, submissions, and renewals.

  • Outreach: Coordinate fundraising with media and donor communications.

  • Financial and Administrative Management: Oversee budget planning, financial reporting, and compliance.

  • Organizational Representation: Represent the organization to stakeholders and increase visibility.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in operational leadership, preferably in a small nonprofit.

  • Experience in nonprofit finance, development, and administration.

  • Strong fundraising and donor management experience.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Passion for Brave Generation’s mission of empowering young Ukrainians.

Mentorship through MentorUkraine: Participants are paired with mentors from Yale and Columbia Universities, who support, motivate, and guide them through the process of applying to universities in the U.S. and EU.

Application Support through TeachUkraine: For participants unable to afford application-related expenses, we offer financial assistance to cover exam fees (TOEFL, SAT) and travel costs, helping them reach their academic destinations.

Leadership Development: Through initiatives like the Ukrainian Recovery Youth Global Initiative and internships with prestigious institutions, including the Ukrainian Parliament and U.S. Congress, participants gain invaluable experience that drives their growth.

Impact to Date

Since our inception, Brave Generation has achieved meaningful milestones:

400+ young Ukrainians supported vital resources during wartime.

122 students admitted to international universities, continuing their education in safe environments.

$11.2 million awarded in scholarships covering education and accommodation.

123 participants receive weekly mental health support, guiding them toward resilience.

233 mentors from prestigious institutions, such as Columbia and Yale, provide guidance.

4,800 hours of mentorship across 4,800 meetings.

60 students were supported for TOEFL and IELTS, and 79 for SAT exam preparation.
