ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
WFP Palestine has been scaling-up its operation since the 07th of October 2023, with more than 23 vendors and 40 contracts across Israel and Gaza, from transport, warehousing, and other logistics services. The Logistics Associate will report to the Head of Contracting and is based in Jerusalem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Relations Management: Effective management of relationships with suppliers.
- Promptly responding to their inquiries and ensuring that suppliers are well-informed about WFP requirements and standards.
- Building and nurturing positive and productive partnerships with suppliers is a key objective.
- Reporting and analytics: Utilize Excel analytical tools, such as pivot tables and graphic visualization, to analyze outcomes.
- Price Comparison Analysis: Review tabulations and conduct in-depth analysis of price/rate comparison tables.
- Ensuring accurate and comprehensive comparisons is essential, as these comparisons are pivotal in informing decision-making processes.
- Filing and Document Management: Responsible for maintaining organized and secure storage of essential documents to facilitate easy retrieval and reference.
- Prepare and disseminate information regarding contract status and any other required information including but not limited to Logistics Contracting Committee (LCC) minutes, Expression of Interest (EOI), Contract Awards, and Note for Record (NFR) documents.
- Offers Analysis and Recommendation: Support analysis and tabulation of offers received through the In-tend system for the relevant Request for Quotations (RFQs) and formulate recommendations to the Head of Contracting.
- Vendor Correspondence: Effective communication with vendors. This involves facilitating the circulation of required documentations for shortlisting and addressing performance-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Contract Expiry Tracking: Responsible for regularly checking and monitoring the contract tracker to ensure that timely actions are taken, avoiding any potential disruptions in operations.
- Support in gathering market intelligence, vendor assessments (e.g., transporters, retailers) to support vendor selection process.
- Monitor the local transport market, logistics infrastructures, port situations, major corridors, and security situation in the country.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Education:
A post-secondary certificate in Law, Supply Chain, Logistics & Transport Management, business, or completion of a university degree in any other relevant field is an added advantage.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain or Legal-related work (law firm, law-based consultancy office, legal department of supply chain company)
Knowledge & Skills:
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective partnerships with external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Language:
Fluent in English (C1), advanced knowledge (written/oral) of Hebrew and Arabic language is a MUST
