Functional Responsibilities

1. Monitoring and Evaluation
● Assist in the implementation of the Community Driven Development Fund Monitoring and Evaluation plan and result framework
● Assist in ensuring that project data are entered and updated on a timely basis
● Assist in providing capacity development support to project staff, as well as Implementation Partners (IPs)
● Assist in monitoring risks and reporting on their development and treatment
● Co-conduct quality assurance to project activities, including monitoring visits and data quality assessments
● Provide timely feedback to IPs on the findings from the aforementioned and share the learnings
● Assist in the development of data collection tools
● Co-coordinate pilot of data collection tools and provide feedback
● Co-coordinate data collection for baseline, midline and endline surveys in the assigned districts, ensuring its accuracy
● Support in ensuring that lessons learned are fed back into project implementation.

2. Reporting
● Assist in developing reports required by UNOPS and/or donor
● Prepare regular progress reports on activities undertaken, results achieved against targets and plan for follow up actions
● Co-conduct data analysis
● Co-develop project’s baseline, midline and endline reports
● Coordinate with the project teams for timely inputs needed for UNOPS and/or donor required reports
● Draft briefing notes, talking points and other correspondence related to the project;
● Taking photos/video clips of the beneficiaries during assessments/distributions when requested
● Identify and draft project success stories and case studies (most significant change)
● Perform other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education
  • Completion of secondary school combined with 6 years of professional experience may be considered;
  • A first-level university degree (Bachelor) in Social Sciences, Statistics, Public Administration, Development Studies or other relevant discipline, is required
 
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Monitoring and Evaluation in NGOs and other related organizations in an international, public or corporate organization at the national and/or international level is required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in monitoring and evaluation processes, particularly data collection and reporting is required;
  • Experience/knowledge of web-based applications and Google Suite products, especially google forms, sheets, docs and slides is an asset.
  • Experience using digital data collection tools is preferred;
  • Prior experience of collecting large scale data both quantitative and qualitative is desired;
  • Experience with a UN agency is preferred;
  • Good contextual knowledge of local issues, community priorities, social and cultural constraints and realities will be an added advantage.

Language
  • Fluency in written and oral English and Portuguese is required.
