Mission and objectives

La salud y el bienestar de los niños y los adolescentes UNICEF se compromete a ayudar a los niños y los adolescentes a construir una base sólida para la edad adulta. Promovemos planes nacionales centrados en la salud y el bienestar de los adolescentes, mejoramos los servicios médicos adaptados a la edad de los niños y los adolescentes y ayudamos a los países a combatir las enfermedades no transmisibles, evitar daños y dar más apoyo a los niños que sufren atrasos en el desarrollo y discapacidad. Fortalecer los sistemas de salud UNICEF promueve la atención primaria de salud, especialmente a nivel comunitario, con el fin de contribuir a alcanzar una cobertura universal de la salud. Trabajamos para fortalecer los sistemas de salud y prestar servicios integrados a los niños, los adolescentes y las mujeres en edad reproductiva, dando prioridad a la salud, la nutrición, el desarrollo de la primera infancia, el VIH y el sida, y el agua, el saneamiento y la higiene. Con nuestra labor promovemos también la salud y el bienestar general de los niños atendiendo a su educación, la protección de la infancia y la inclusión social.

Context

This assignment is given in the framework of internal UNICEF regional staff association meetings and the selected person will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement. Candidates who are not fluent in Spanish and English will not be considered.

Task description

We are seeking 2 Online Volunteers to support us by simultaneously interpretating on staff wellbeing topics from spanish to english and fram english to spanish. To this end the Online Volunteers are asked: - Simultaneous interpretation during staff association monthly meetings, which are aprox 1.30 hour long, from Spanish to English and fram English to Spanish. - Ensure the interpretation is concise, in line with our communications guidelines, and fits the audience. The selected Online Volunteers will be provided with context documents and will receive guidance on the target audience and our communications guidelines as well as other guidance as needed. The Online Volunteers will have the opportunity to build connections with the regional staff association at LAC and learn about the ways in which the interpretation contributes to staff wellbeing. Simultaneous interpretation services for 8 sessions to be held monthly from May 2024 to December 2024. The sessions will last approximately 1.30 hours and will take place in the morning (Argentina time).
