In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases. These programs are funded by USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), MSD for Mothers, UNFPA, GIZ apart from others.

Jhpiego is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team in the position Senior Manager – Strategic Engagement and Partnerships for the India Country Office. This position will report to the Deputy Country Director. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing strong relationships with Government stakeholders, donor communities, CSR organizations, academic institutions, civil society organizations, professional associations, and other relevant stakeholders to build, nurture and hold meaningful relationships that benefit communities that we work for. While the position will support multiple projects the key project is on Maternal and Newborn Health. with a focus on improving the quality of Antenatal care.

Responsibilities

 

  • Work with various Program Directors and State Leads to map out key stakeholders and work with the team to build, nurture and hold relationships with various stakeholders
  • Collaborate with government agencies, CSR organizations, individual philanthropist, and community organizations to develop and implement strategies that enhance program outcomes
  • Explore, initiate, facilitate partnerships with various players in private sector, technical, digital technology field, research field, data analytics and innovative start-ups, etc. to strengthen response to emerging needs under various programs.
  • Prepare and present reports, presentations, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, including government officials, donors, and partner organizations.
  • Mobilize resources from private sector, philanthropists, corporate donors for supporting states in the response to emerging project need(s).
  • Conduct needs assessments and consultations to understand the specific challenges and barriers related to various projects
  • Provide strategic guidance for all programs being implemented, whenever called for.
  • Support the Communications team in drafting success stories and facts in consultation with the program team members. Support documentation of project results, successes, challenges and lessons learned.
  • Perform or assume other duties as assigned by the supervisor

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, Community Development, Sociology, MBA or a related field.
  • 12-15 years of experience of working with government counterparts.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in donor engagement. Working with community-based organization is desired.
  • Technical knowledge and field experience in public health programs.
  • Familiarity with the Indian health system, newer initiatives in health sector and relevant government policies.
  • Experience in managing a team of diverse professionals.
