The mission and vision of AIIB’s Communications Department (COM) is to build stakeholder trust by creating breakthrough communications that show how AIIB empowers people through infrastructure. COM helps AIIB effectively tell its story. Whether it’s official communications for use by and within the Bank, or processing institutional documents, or communicating with staff, or informing external audiences about what we do and why we do it—we provide strategic advice and support on how to craft messages, get media coverage, share on social media and build awareness with our internal and external stakeholders.
The Senior Internal Communications Officer plays a crucial part in informing, engaging, and motivating Bank staff through strategic internal communications. This role will direct efforts, as well as offer guidance and hands-on support, to advance our key business priorities and foster a positive organizational culture. The Senior Internal Communications Officer will bBuilding strong relationships with Bank leadership, stakeholders, crafting clear and compelling staff communications, and devising strategic communications plans.
Responsibilities:
• Regularly engaging with Bank leadership stakeholders to understand grasp their key priorities and crafting strategic communications plans and tactics to effectively convey their initiatives to Bank staff.
• Taking ownership of communication campaigns from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery of pertinent information to staff across the Bank through optimal communication channels tailored to their requirements.
• Providing strategic communications advice to senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Overseeing the creation of various staff communications, including emails, articles, newsletters, and digital signage.
• Assisting in managing and curating content for diverse communication channels, keeping abreast of trends, best practices, Bank priorities, and data-driven insights.
• Offering comprehensive support in research, proofreading, editing, and maintaining the quality of various communication materials.
• Becoming a subject matter expert and collaborating closely with leadership from departments such as the President’s Office, Human Resources, and the Vice Presidents’ front offices.
Requirements:
• Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. A university degree, in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of a Master’s degree.
• 8-10 years of directly relevant experience, with a focus on corporate communications (must include 2+ years experience developing and executing strategic internal communications plans to support organization initiatives).
• Experience in the financial services, capital markets or development sector is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication, with the capability to transform intricate information into easily understandable content and engaging narratives tailored for staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Solid organizational, project management, and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to thrive in team environments, with a strong understanding of diversity and other cultures
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
