The Scope
Are you interested in EU regulations, forests and supply chains of forest products? If so, we invite you to join our team at FSC in Poland. We are currently looking for a FSC Supply Chain Coordinator that will formally represent FSC in Poland and lead activities and projects in close cooperation with relevant local stakeholders from the forestry sector, public, private, NGO sector.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
- National roll out and promotion in Poland of the FSC International tools in relation to the EU Deforestation Regulation (and, in the future, to other regulations connected to the EU Green Deal). This includes i.e.: translation of relevant materials, conducting webinars and trainings to Polish stakeholders, responding to enquiries.
- Be the local technical national expert of the relevant FSC normative framework related to supply chains (in particular the FSC Chain of Custody Standard FSC-STD-40-004).
- Be the point of contact for and provide technical guidance to chain of custody certificate holders and to entities interested in applying for FSC Chain of Custody certification, as well as to the Certification Bodies.
- Develop the Supply Chain Management Strategy for Poland.
- Develop EUDR conformity and support strategy for Poland,
- Develop and promote an FSC procurement policy for national and local authorities.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders such as CoC Certificate Holders, Certification Bodies, industry associations, relevant government bodies for the improved implementation of relevant FSC standards.
- Engage in the development and revision of FSC standards ensuring that Polish stakeholders are informed and invited to engage at the appropriate times.
- Assess impact of FSC in supply chain in Poland and communicate this to target audiences;
- Represent and support organizing FSC in relevant conferences and meetings.
- Attend and represent Poland in FSC International relevant forums including the Supply Chain Community, EUDR community, annual staff meeting, regional meetings, webinars, etc.
- Any other tasks as agreed with the FSC Country Manager for Poland.
Your profile
Education and Training:
- University degree in forestry, supply chain management or an equivalent combination of education/vocational training and work experience relevant for the roles and responsibilities of this function.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in EU regulations implementation, FSC certification of supply chains, Due Diligence Statements, ESG reporting or other relevant.
- Sound understanding of the scope of FSC’s programs and activities, policies, and standards.
- A practical understanding of EUDR and its impact on Polish timber industry and forest managers.
- Understanding of the forest product value chain needs and market forces.
- Good time management and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and to achieve agreed objectives with little supervision.
- Service-oriented attitude to work, as well as a strong sense for diligence and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills that contribute to cohesive team efforts and decision making.
- Fluency in Polish (spoken and written).
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Standard software packages (MS Office).
- Adaptive to use and discover new technological solutions.
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, global team.
- Experience in working in / with an NGO or Non-Profit Organization.
- Commitment to FSC’s mission and values.
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity to the diversity of values, views and approaches to issues relevant to the FSC program by stakeholders around the world.
- Familiarity at the general level with the scope of FSC’s programs.
- Ability to represent FSC through his/her work with exemplary personal and professional authority and conduct.

The Fine Print
- Location: Poland, preferably Warsaw but this appointment can be home-based on those days when not attending meetings or field visits.
- Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
- Employment: Service and License Agreement
- Duration of Employment: 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance).
- Starting Date: As soon as possible.
- Travel: Sporadic national and international travel is required.
