Job Description

Under the overall supervision of the Project Coordinator (NFIs) and the direct daily supervision of the Senior Project Assistant (NFIs Pipeline and Storage), working closely with the Assistance Programme Units and Supply Chain Unit, and all IOM thematic units, the incumbent will be responsible for performing the following tasks:
Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of the Project Coordinator and Senior Project Assistants, assist in facilitating day-to-day NFI pipeline and storage operations
- Assist in collecting reusable NFI items from departing beneficiaries and ensure the disinfection, sanitization, cleansing, and prepositioning of items for redistribution.
- Assist the NFI pipeline focal persons by checking delivery notes, identifying delivery shortfalls, and bringing them to the attention of the Senior Project Assistant.
- Assist in identifying stock shortfalls and timely bring them to the attention of the Senior Project Assistants and Project Coordinator.
- Participate in regular stock counts and update the stock records/reports accordingly to ensure accuracy
- Assist in updating stock cards/Bin cards, preparing NFI kits, and transferring NFI kits/items to distribution points.
- Assist in monitoring casual workers, assigning them responsibilities, and tracking their attendance.
- Assist to organize meetings for casual workers with the project team and document and share all key discussion points.
- Liaise with the IOM fleet team to organize the movements of casual workers to support IOM operations within CAS and deliver items between distribution and storage sites.
- Assist in receiving NFIs/material and checking items' corresponding expiry dates/conditions at storage sites.
- Follow compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental SOPs, especially for storing and handling Non-Food and food items.
- Perform other duties as required within the competencies and responsibilities of the position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in housing, sociology, humanitarian studies, or a related field, from an accredited academic institution with two years of experience in stock/inventory and construction management or
- Completed high school degree with at least four years of relevant experience.
- Professional experience in warehousing and stock management.
- Prior relevant experience in inventory management
- Prior experience working in camp settings.
- Preferable prior experience working with a United Nations agency in an emergency context.
- Knowledge of working with migrants and refugees
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and familiarity with Publisher) and Office 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams).
- Excellent operational, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to work harmoniously with other colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Proven experience in drafting reports, and other information products
- Experience in project management, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting will be an advantage.
IOM's official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
REQUIRED
For this position, fluency in English is required
DESIRABLE
Knowledge of Pashtu, Dari, Urdu/Hindi, Arabic, and other local languages commonly used at CAS will be an added advantage.
