The Security Information Analyst should be a European Union national who will be the focus for producing concise security related intelligence output for the delegation.
Role objectivesSupervises and manages the Security Information Capability structure and acts as a main contact point for EU Delegation security actors, particularly the RST, the DSC or HoD;
The SIA is in charge of the systematic collection of valuable and relevant information related to the evolution of day-to-day security threat situation (security events and incidents) throughout the country and any other elements that could affect the security interests of the EU Delegation or its staff members; and
The SIA will be responsible for analysing data and contributing to its presentation to provide EU Delegation security actors with an up-to-date security threat situation picture in order for them to assess and take decisions.
Project reportingThe SIA will be a key component of the security management team and will report to the Project Security Manager, the RST, the DSC and HOD.
Must have prior experience in providing security related briefings to senior management and stakeholders both orally and in concise written papers.
Key competenciesThorough knowledge of the country's security environment with recent experience Afghanistan.
Professional career record in information and intelligence; acquiring security related information from recognised sources, with a proven capability of producing threat and risk assessments based on information received and processed
Proven knowledge of radio equipment and radio operational procedures.
Excellent knowledge of the national legislation of Afghanistan and the internationally recognised governing principles (i.e. legality, necessity, proportionality and accountability) on the use of physical force and firearms.
If armed, excellent skills in handling firearms is essential, attested by a relevant certificate.
Team managementClean criminal record, attested by a certificate of good character issued by the competent authorities.
Excellent health, mental and physical condition, and be able to present a medical certificate.

Some knowledge of Pashto or Dari language would be an advantage.
Fully IT-literate in Word and Excel.
Valid EU driving licence categories C, C1, could be an asset.
Excellent knowledge in first aid, to be proven through relevant certificates.
