Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations. 

DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2024 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context. 

DRC is currently looking for a Humanitarian Mine Action Officer (Programme Officer)

About the job 

Programme Officer role holds a cross departmental mandate supporting teams with logistical support, administrative support and other cross cutting tasks in support of DRC’s Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (HDP) teams that often work in locations. The roles serves as a bridge between HDP teams in field locations and the support services in the area or base office and reports to the Humanitarian Mine Action Supervisor (Demining Supervisor).

Your main duties and responsibilities will be: 

Logistics/Procurement/Fleet Management

  • Support with logistics and procurement tasks (finding suppliers, local procurement, arrangement of deliveries, dispatch of goods, documentation linked with procurement). 
  • Responsible for fleet management; coordinating use of vehicle and driver in the most efficient manner.
  • Managing and maintaining procurement tracker, fleet management report and stock checklist under supervision of support services manager.
  • Ensure that fixed assets and program equipment is managed accordingly to DRC policies
  • Create/maintain up-to-date inventory of all demining assets.
  • Support in logistics-related tasks focuses on demining activities but it will be asked to support other program departments as required by the manager.

Office Management

  • Oversee identification, set-up, and day-to-day running of office.
  • Oversee administrative duties including stocking of office supplies, scheduling, translation (written and in person) and other administrative tasks.
  • Support with travel documents for sub-base staff (order requests, travel reports).
  • Assistance with administrative tasks in accordance with DRC's internal regulations and procedures.
  • Support with administrative tasks related to visits of internal and external stakeholders to the base and/or demining sites.
  • Support with identification and contracting of suitable space for dedicated HDP trainings, as required.

About you 

To be successful in this role we expect you to have at least 2 years relevant experience in logistics, fleet management and have Englisj level B-1 Intermediate

Moreover, we also expect the following:  

  • Fluency in Ukrainian language
  • Relevant experience in logistics, fleet management, office managment. Including planning, implementation and control of operational processes
  • Good communication skills
  • Advanced organizational skills
  • Accuracy in paper work
  • IT Technical Skills: Proficiency with MS Word and Excel. Proficiency with computers both in word processing and data gathering spreadsheet programs, with presentation and report writing capability are highly preferred.
  • Education/qualifications: university degree in relevant area or equivalent professional qualification Logistics/Economics
