The ultimate goal in this area of work is to provide information, advice, and guidance to key audiences to prompt action that will protect the health of individuals, families, communities and nations. The strategic communications also aim at increasing the organization’s visibility and improving the public’s and the stakeholder’s understanding of the work of WHO and its initiatives.

Immunization, Vaccines Preventable Disease and Polio Transition unit (IVP), Department of Communicable Diseases, WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean (WHO/EMRO)
The IVP unit’s main mandate is to support the countries of the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region, namely, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, UAE and Yemen, in the area of Immunization. Task description
• Assist in planning and preparations of the events conducted by IVP.
• Contribute to developing concept notes, project timeline for events, meetings and other relevant occasions organized by IVP.
• Maintain and update IVP/EMRO website
• In consultation with technical team, design and provide layout and production of technical and non-technical communication materials,
• Work closely with the IVP data team to visualize data through storytelling.
• Assist in developing IVP related newsletter and develop EPI Epidemiology monitor.
• Assist country office in developing communication materials related to World Immunization Week, in close coordination with HQ.
• Contribute to developing content for communication products including Regional Director messages in addition to developing talking points, speeches, opening notes to IVP technical team.
• Develop a Request for proposal (RFP) with design and media agencies to hire them for development of Information, Education, and Communications. See the process of recruitment until finalized.
• Assist in enhanced and expanded utilization of the existing and emerging internal communications tools and platforms related to IVP.
• Any other relevant task as deemed necessary by the hiring manager.
