Street Child Suisse is searching for an inspirational professional to be our Country Manager - and pioneer the growth of the Street Child brand in Switzerland. Street Child Suisse is a young member of the 15-year-old Street Child group of global charities – which today works for hundreds of thousands of children in over 30 of the world’s poorest and most disaster-affected countries, with support from Governments, UN agencies, major corporates, public and philanthropists. Street Child focuses on high-quality, locally led, sustainable measures to improve access to education, child protection and family livelihoods.

Street Child Suisse is one of 8 European members of the Street Child group. This Country Manager role is a vital part of Street Child’s ongoing development of a strong presence in Switzerland. The role, whose core purpose is to maximize income for Street Child’s global projects from Swiss channels, will work closely with, and be tightly supported by our European fundraising hubs in Barcelona and London. The position is designed to be a remote-based in Switzerland. Occasional travel to our offices in Barcelona and London will be part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and develop all Swiss fundraising channels, focusing on foundations, corporate partnerships and institutional donors
  • Lead grant applications and ensure accountability and reporting to Swiss funding partners in collaboration with our local project implementation partners and Street Child’s global team
  • Build and manage Swiss partner relationships
  • Lead and manage our small Swiss fundraising team, with opportunities to expand the team as fundraising efforts grow
  • Network and participate in Swiss fundraising events and training courses
  • Manage admin, the relationship with Swiss authorities and processes such as finance, CRM or legal issues
  • Support and leverage fundraising and other synergies with the wider European fundraising team
  • Collaborate with the Swiss board on setting strategic goals and ensuring alignment with Street Child’s global objectives

Your profile:

  • Passionate identification with the values and goals of Street Child
  • Creativity, hands on, initiative, a high sense of responsibility and team spirit in an intercultural environment
  • Highly self-motivated professional who thrives in an autonomous work environment
  • Strong track-record in the development/humanitarian/fundraising field – ideally spanning work with foundations, corporate and/or institutional donors
  • Excellent written and spoken communication in German or French and English to inspire and convince the readers of your project proposals
  • Proven leadership in managing employees and volunteers effectively
  • Structured, independent and analytical way of working
  • Ideally able to travel frequently and/or be based in Barcelona
