Job Overview:  In January 2023, the U.S. Department of State, in coordination with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services launched the Welcome Corps, a new program that empowers everyday Americans to welcome refugees arriving through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP).

In an effort to support everyday Americans in navigating the resettlement process for the newcomers they sponsor, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) launched the Welcome Corps Support Line (WCSL). Welcome Corps Private Sponsor Groups (PSGs) can call the WCSL to ask questions, request resources, and inquire about referrals to programs for their sponsored newcomers at local Resettlement Agencies and other community service providers. The goal of the Welcome Corps Support Line is to be a resource for PSGs and a bridge between Welcome Corps newcomers, their sponsors, and local community service providers to facilitate efficient and effective enrollment in additional programs as needed.

The Welcome Corps Support Line Program Coordinator will be looked upon as an expert in Private Sponsorship, providing consultation to Private Sponsorship Groups new to refugee resettlement.  Beyond providing individualized consultations, the Program Coordinator will support the Program Officer in other administrative tasks, such as facilitating streamlined referrals for eligible newcomers into local community service providers for programs like Preferred Communities and Matching Grant under the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
