As part of the UNDP BiH’s Good Governance’s portfolio, The Economic Governance for Growth (EGG) Project seeks to contribute to economic growth and entrepreneurship development, improving economic governance and fostering the growth of market-oriented capabilities for a knowledge-based economy.
The EGG Project Analyst will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager by performing the tasks listed here-below.
The incumbent will be based in UNDP BiH office in Sarajevo.
- Provision of technical support in the design and delivery of project activities;
- Efficient support to procurement processes of the Project;
- Business Process Quality Assurance;
- Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing within the Project;
- Promoting gender equality mainstreaming;

Provision of technical support in the design and delivery of project activities;
- Provides technical expertise and advice related to project design and development;
- Supports conducting of specific assessments and analysis based on requests from project partners or other institutions and upon approval by project management;
- Guides identify areas of critical interest for targeted support by the project, in cooperation with stakeholders;
- Contributes to the conceptualization and design of individual project activities through provision of technical inputs related to defining priority sectors, required investments, beneficiaries, standards, etc.;
- Participates in competitive beneficiary selection processes on behalf of the UNDP Project Team, to include active involvement in the evaluation committees, including conducting assessment field visits;
- Conducts site visits and communicates findings both to project management and counterparts.

Efficient support to procurement processes of the Project;
- Provide support in market research to identify availability and potential local sourcing of planned procurement activities;
- Identify risks and undertake mitigating actions in close cooperation with project team;
- Support preparation of procurement plans for the project;
- Participate in evaluation stage of the procurement processes implemented by the project.

Ensure Business Process Quality Assurance
- Facilitate business processes followed by the Project in line with UNDP regulations and rules, policies and the UNDP internal control framework;
- Monitor risk issue logs ensuring that they are regularly filled in with indicator targets;
- Assist in timely reporting.

Facilitate knowledge building and knowledge sharing within the Project;
- Participation in trainings for staff within the Projects on Programme and Operations Policies and Procedures (POPP);
- Participation in Project knowledge management activities related to procurement;
- Synthesis of lessons learnt and best practices in projects.

Supporting gender equality mainstreaming;
- Supporting the Project Manager in ensuring gender mainstreaming throughout project implementation, as well as in ensuring gender sensitive work plans, budgets, reports, research, and analyses;
- Ensuring that all data when collected and compiled are gender and age disaggregated and evaluated from a gender point of view;
- Ensuring knowledge on gender equality is incorporated in Project knowledge management activities and products.
The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Institutional Arrangement
The incumbent will report to the Project Manager, as part of the UNDP Local Development Portfolio within the Good Governance Sector.

- Master degree in Public Administration, Business, Economics, Law or related field is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in the areas stated above, in combination with additional two years of qualifying work experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Applicants with a Master’s degree in a relevant field of study are not required to have professional work experience.
- Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional administrative or project experience at the national or international level.
Required Skills:
- Experience in project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and networking.
- Experience in working with public sector institutions and donors.
- Proven track record of displaying cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability.
- Demonstrated experience in treating all people fairly without favouritism.
- Demonstrated experience to identify discrimination, address it, and maintain an enabling working environment based on fairness, respect and freedom from any forms of harassment and abuse.
- Experience in understand the language associated with gender, equity, inclusion, and diversity.
Desired Skills:
- Prior experience and knowledge of development trends in BiH.
- Familiarity with key public documents, development strategies and regulatory framework related to the operation of local and cantonal governments in BIH.
- Previous experience in technical expertise and advice related to project design and development.
- Previous experience in providing technical advice and support in the process of introducing new tools and solutions in education, entrepreneurship and innovation, in general.
Languages:
- Fluency in English and one of the national languages (Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian ) is required.
