Head of Support Iran (Internal Only)

What we are looking for

NRC is looking for a Head of Support to join the Iran mission. The role holder will play a strategic and leading role to ensure that all support functions are providing high quality and efficient support programme implementation.

What you will do

• Strategic input into the development of the country strategy.
• Operational support coordination and alignment with programme plans and with proposal development.
• Quality and timely support to project implementation.
• Master budget, country level budgets and business process outsourcing facilitation and development.
• Country structures, technical systems, and human resource capacity and allocation strategic development.
• Standard operating procedures, guidelines, and tools development.
• Organisational learning related to programme support.
• Line management, guidance, and direction for Support Managers and Support Field Teams.

What you will bring

• Senior management experience in a humanitarian/recovery context.
• Resource and cost allocation expertise. 
• Market analysis and cash-based interventions knowledge and exposure.
• Complex, and volatile context exposure.
• Iran context exposure and knowledge.
• English fluency, both written and verbal.

• NRC started operations in Iran in 2012, and currently delivers humanitarian assistance in the sectors of Education, Food Security and Livelihoods, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Shelter and Settlements, as well as Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance.
• NRC Iran has grown to become the largest international NGO, currently operating in ten provinces across the country. 
• NRC supports refugees, displaced and disaster affected populations. The Islamic Republic of Iran hosts at least 3.8 million Afghans, one of the largest and most protracted refugee caseloads worldwide.
• NRC contributes to the development of policy, aiming to protect the rights of the displaced and calls for increased humanitarian funding and engagement on processes that will generate structural changes in protection and assistance in the region.
• NRC co-leads several technical inter-agency working groups and provides capacity building to humanitarian partners in country. To complement programs, NRC Iran established an advocacy unit to develop joint messages and initiatives amongst INGOs to improve rights of the displaced.

What we offer

• Tehran, Iran duty station. 
• 24-month contract duration.
• 10% travel, approximately.
• Grade 11 in NRC’s Salary Scale, with accompanying terms and conditions. NRC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
