Organizational Setting

Field Assistant works under the overall supervision of the WHO Representative in Myanmar, the technical guidance of the Medical Officer (HIV & Hepatitis) in collaboration with the National AIDS Programme and Drug Dependency Treatment and Research Unit of Ministry of Health.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1.Keep track of all items incoming as well as outgoing for the sub-depots/transit camps for regular updating of inventory and expiry; Ensure all logistic data are recorded and updated regularly with standard forms and formats

2.Prepare quarterly stock reports and assist Regional officers/Team leaders to submit to central level in time

3.Assist to forecast the requirements of respective sub-depot/transit camps in order to request to central warehouse for uninterrupted supply of commodities to the project townships

4.Keep the sub-depot/transit camps systematically according to Standard Operation Procedure

5.Undertake field visits as advised by Regional officers/Team leaders to project townships and monitor the logistic management according to SOP and checklist

  1. Work together with Central Project Coordinator/ Logistic Coordinator/Field project Coordinator/Data Assistant of respective state/region as a team

7.Perform other relevant duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

8.To submit assignment report quarterly

Work Relations and Partnerships

The Field Assistant provides technical support to National AIDS Programme and Drug Dependency Treatment and Research Unit. He/she needs to coordinate with focal from MoHS, UN agencies, development partners, and implementing partners. He/she works together with Field project Coordinator/Data Assistant of respective state/region and Central Project coordinator/M&E team/Logistic team from central as a team. He/she works as a part of WHO HIV-AIDS team in achieving goals of National Strategic Plan of HIV in collaboration with different stakeholders working on HIV/AIDS.

Impact of functions

The function plays a key role in strengthening the procurement and supply chain management system of HIV/AIDS prevention and control programme.The support to MoHS will contribute in improving health care services by providing uninterrupted supply and systematic warehouse management.

Qualifications

Educational background

Essential: Completion of secondary school education

Desirable: Relevant university degree and/orbvb training in supply management/stock keeping

Professional experience and knowledge

Essential: Minimum of two years working experience in supply management

Desirable: Working experience with UN, International/Local NGOs will be an asset

Language Skills

Knowledge of spoken and written English and Myanmar Language
