Organizational Setting

Data Assistant works under the overall supervision of the WHO Representative in Myanmar, the technical guidance of the Technical Officer (HIV, Hepatitis and STI) in collaboration with the National AIDS Programme and Drug Dependency Treatment and Research Unit of Ministry of Health.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1.Ensure the complete and accurate data entry of register and records at implementation sites especially ART centres

2.Update the database regularly with standardized format, at assigned duty station in order to facilitate data analysis and ensure the integrity of data and make back-up files as per standard operating procedures

3.Support the National AIDS Programme with regular collection of HIV programme data, as well as information on programme activities and commodities for timely submission of reports to central level. Ensure programme reports submission in DHIS 2 according to the deadline of National M&E plan.

4.Validate the data from the reports and support the implementation sites for the quality reports.

5.Assist respective NAP personnel for timely implementation of Global Fund work plan

6.Work together with Central Project Coordinator/Field project Coordinator/Field Assistant of respective state/region as a team

7.Perform other relevant duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Work Relations and Partnerships

The Data Assistant provides technical support to National AIDS Programme or Drug Dependency Treatment and Research Unit. He/she needs to coordinate with focal from MoH, UN agencies, development partners, and implementing partners. He/she works together with Central Project Coordinator/Field project Coordinator/Field Assistant of respective state/region as a team. He/she works as a part of WHO HIV, Hepatitis and STI Team in achieving goals of National Strategic Plan of HIV.

Impact of functions

The function plays a key role in strengthening the strategic information system of HIV prevention and control programme.The support to MoH will contribute in improving health care services based on the analysis of collected information.

Training on electronic based health information system used by National AIDS Programme is an asset (Eg. DHIS2, OpenMRS, etc.)

Professional experience and knowledge

At least two-year experience as data entry, data management or related positions that requires the use of computers

Excellent computer operating and presentation skills

Excellent knowledge of excel, word, power point, outlook, data management software and internet search engines

Knowledge on computer hardware and software would be an asset

Language Skills

Knowledge of spoken and written English and Myanmar Language
