Senior Officer – Finance Malawi Operations

ICRISAT seeks application from professionals who can perform a specialist role of a Senior Officer – Finance Malawi Operations to be hired in Financial Services. The position will report to the Manager – Africa Region, Finance and will be Responsible for managing Accounts and Finance and provide support to Finance Team members with close interaction and reporting to HQ-India. There is a requirement for a person who with high integrity and able to exercise sound judgement. The incumbent should be able to interact with wide range of staff at all levels in multicultural and multidisciplinary environment. This position will be hired through a National Recruitment Process, on a contract basis for a period of three years. A new contract may be offered at the end of the present tenure based on the performance of the incumbent, funding availability, and the institute's continuing need for the position.

Primary Responsibilities:

 The successful candidate will be responsible to:

• Ensure that the organization’s financial records and recordkeeping methods are in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

• Ensure booking of all capital expenditures and inform HQ timely manner.

• Verification and Authorization of Bank Reconciliation Statements

• Preparation of Budget for the Location and Review the same periodically.

• Preparation of Cash flow Statement and Review of Cash Flow Budget Vs Actual.

• Prepare Financial Statements, MIS and Financial Forecasts.

• Periodically review the organization’s financial reports and identify opportunities for cost reduction.

• Managing all accounting operations based on accounting principles.

• Conducting Physical Stock Verification

• Preparation of Inter office Accounts and Reconcile the same periodically.

• Undertake other jobs assigned from time to time

•  Ensure Team follow the policies and procedures for accounting, procurement, Travel and others.

• Manage Seed Business Vertical for planning of cultivation, budgeting, sourcing, sale of seed , MIS, Audit and others.

• Grant Fund Management as per the Grant Sanctioned letter and reporting as per timelines.

• Undertake other jobs assigned from time to time

• Liaison with Internal and External Auditors

• Inter departmental liaison

• Liaison with Outreach locations to meet Audit requirement

• Assisting the HQ team in resolving accounting problems

• Provide accurate and timely information to the Management for decision making purposes

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Acumen for process improvement

Candidate Profile

• CA Inter/ MBA in finance or a relevant field of specialization with atleast 3 – 4 Years of Experience

• Hands-on knowledge on MS Office, ERP Tool

• Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop creative solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to produce accurate work.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Excellent communication, stakeholder orientation, problem-solving and analytical skills utilized in effectively collaborating with team members at all levels throughout the organization

• High-level written, oral and interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills in English

 General:

 This is a contractual position for a period of 36 months.
