Shape the Future of ERP
After two decades, ESO is embarking on an evolutionary journey to replace its longstanding ERP system with a modern, sustainable platform that will enhance our operational efficiency, adaptability, and ability for ESO to remain competitive and at the forefront of ground-based astronomy. From Human Resources to Finance, Procurement to Project Management, this transformation will impact every corner of our organisation.
We're looking for two visionary ERP System Specialists/Engineers to join this transformative journey, professionals who can support our current systems, challenge the status quo, and co-create a cutting-edge solution in a world-leading scientific environment. If you thrive on tackling complexity, improving processes, unlocking the power of data, and building for the future, this is your opportunity to be part of the change.
Your Role
This is more than just a systems role, it's a chance to redefine how ESO operates. As part of our ERP team, you will:

- Drive insights: Conduct business analysis, enhance reporting and BI capabilities, and deliver actionable insights across the organisation.
- Enable integration: Oversee and support system integrations, ensuring seamless data flow between the ERP and other enterprise platforms.
- Challenge norms: Bring fresh ideas, question legacy approaches, and collaborate with stakeholders and partners to deliver an innovative ERP solution.
- Support and learn: Maintain and support the current ERP environment (Dynamics NAV) during the transition, using this experience to gain insights into processes, data models, and integrations that will inform and strengthen the new system's implementation and your understanding of ESO.
- Collaborate globally: Work across the different ESO teams and hold ERP partners accountable for delivering exceptional results.
What You'll Bring
- Ideally a minimum of 5 years of experience in ERP implementation, transformation, or system specialist/engineer roles.
- Expertise in leading ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday, MS Dynamics) and proficiency in key modules like Finance, HCM, Supply Chain, and Project Management.
- Strong experience in business analysis, reporting, and BI tools, with a talent for deriving insights and creating reports and dashboards.
- Proven skills in data integration, process optimisation, and system configuration, with a knack for spotting inefficiencies and implementing smart solutions.
- Proficiency in technical skills such as SQL, REST APIs, JSON, and other data integration tools to streamline workflows, enable seamless system integration, and support advanced reporting capabilities.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and a team-focused mindset to foster collaboration and innovation.
- Energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for learning and adapting to new ERP trends and technologies.
Join us to not only manage systems but to build a sustainable and efficient future for ESO's enterprise operations. Bring your expertise, curiosity, and energy to make a lasting impact in a globally recognised organisation!
