Web Developer

The World Health Organization serves as the directing and coordinating authority for public health within the United Nations system. WHO seeks to promote health, ensure everyone can attain the highest level of health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable through partnerships, people and countries.

The assignment entails developing a web-based toolkit and identify the most appropriate platform for the toolkit, and ensuring effective translation of public health and project team ideas in the technical specifications that can guide IT development. The developer will work closely with the project team, including public health experts, business analyst and IT developers, to deliver the points mentioned in the task description.

The web developer UNV will work under the guidance of the Information Systems and Analytics Team Lead. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), and database management (SQL). Additional skills that are highly desirable including having experience in developing chatbots, integrating apps with AI solutions like Copilot Studio, ChatGPT and Perplexity for enhanced business knowledge generation and extraction.
Key Responsibilities:
• SharePoint Development & Management:
- Design, develop, and maintain SharePoint sites, lists, workflows, and custom applications along with required item level permissions depending on requirements.
- Manage SharePoint complex document libraries, access permissions, with ability to create systems to aid in classifications, tagging and creating a unified accessible electronic document management system.
- Create and build content types as required that can save time and have predefined contents.
• Power Apps Expertise:
- Design, develop, and deploy custom applications using Power Apps as standalone or within SharePoint environment as form customizations.
- Integrate Power Apps solutions with SharePoint, Power Automate, SQL databases, AI chat bots and other business systems for seamless functionality.
• Power Automate Expertise:
- Design and implement automated workflows to streamline business processes using Power Automate.
- Integrate Power Automate with Power Apps, SharePoint, AI tools, and third-party services to enhance operational efficiency.
• Power BI Expertise:
- Develop and maintain dynamic dashboards and reports using Power BI to provide actionable business insights.
- Create reporting for database user access using Power BI and integrate these reports within PowerApps and Power Automate.
• Database Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain databases from different platforms, SQL, One Drive files, SharePoint lists and libraries as needed.
- Develop complex queries, stored procedures, and data migration strategies.
• AI and Chatbot Development (Preferred):
- Develop and deploy chatbots using modern frameworks and platforms.
- Integrate chatbot solutions with Copilot Studio, ChatGPT, Perplexity and other AI tools into PowerApps or other web solutions as required.
- Ability to customize search sources for AI tools and direct AI answers from specific sets of documents and websites to generate content over secured channels to ensure data integrity and protection.
- Create seamless topics workflows depending on existing databases to answer common questions and connecting AI tools to provide real time answers from these databases within organization architecture.
• Collaboration & Support:
- provide support for system users and track support requests for documentation and workload tracking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to demo and collect feedback on developed systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
