Purpose of consultancy
Provide technical expertise to the Supply chain transformation project, subproject B2 : Demand, inventory and operation planning.
Background
The mission of the WHO’s Health Emergencies (WHE) Programme is to build the capacity of Member States to manage health emergency risks and, when national capacities are overwhelmed, to lead and coordinate the international health response to contain outbreaks and to provide effective relief and recovery to affected populations. The objective of the Operation Supports and Logistic team (OSL) is to provide support to the response to emergency but also to develop tool and guidance to strengthen our supply chain and increase efficiency of our field team.
Within the WHO supply chain transformation project, the OSL unit is chairing the subproject, related to Demand, inventory and operation planning. The objective of this project is to improve the supply chain performance by strengthening the planning component of the supply chain, to better anticipate and the countries and region’s needs and improve grants implementation. The incumbent will work as part of a global, cross-functional team, collaborating with members located in different countries.

- Provide recommendations to optimize organizational databases for improved performance and reliability, including data integrity, backups, and updates.

Qualifications, experience, skills and languages
Educational Qualifications
Essential:
- A university degree in supply chain, administration, computer sciences, programming engineering, science, economics, or related area.
Desirable:
- Additional professional training/specialization in data management.
Experience
Essential:
- At least five years' practical experience in data visualization and database management in supply chain management.
Desirable:
- Proven successful experience with supply chain of health commodities.
- Experience in humanitarian or United Nations area.
Skills/Knowledge
Essential:
- Power BI: Proficiency in Power BI for dashboard design, data visualization, and Power Query for data transformation
- Excellent control of SQL through Microsoft Query and integrating data with Excel and SQL skills for managing and querying relational databases
Desirable:
- Good control of SharePoint Framework (SPFx) and PHP
