The Partnership and Reporting Consultant will support WFP’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with the government, donors, and local organizations to enhance food security and resilience in Burkina Faso. Key responsibilities include managing stakeholder relationships, preparing reports, supporting resource mobilization, and monitoring partnership effectiveness.

Organizational Context:

As WFP continues its operations in Burkina Faso, it is critical to enhance partnerships with the Government of Burkina Faso, international donors, and local actors to ensure a cohesive and efficient response to food security and resilience-building efforts. The Partnership and Reporting Consultant will assist in fostering these relationships and provide the necessary reporting and communication to ensure that stakeholders remain aligned with WFP’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Partnership Engagement

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key government agencies, donors, and local actors.

  • Support the identification and engagement of potential new partners to advance WFP’s food security and resilience-building objectives.

  • Organize and coordinate meetings, events, and communication with stakeholders to ensure continuous collaboration and alignment of efforts.

2. Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and submit regular reports on partnership activities, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and impact.

  • Support the development of advocacy materials, including reports and presentations, to demonstrate the value and impact of WFP’s partnerships.

  • Ensure that all reporting meets WFP’s standards, donor requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

3. Resource Mobilization Support

  • Assist in identifying funding opportunities from government, multilateral agencies, and donor organizations.

  • Support the preparation of concept notes, proposals, and other resource mobilization documents.

  • Ensure the tracking and reporting of contributions and donor commitments, ensuring transparency and accountability.

4. Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of partnership activities, ensuring that objectives are met and that partnerships are functioning effectively.

  • Document lessons learned from partnership and reporting processes to inform future strategies and improve performance.

5. Operational and Administrative Support

  • Provide operational support for partnership-related activities, including logistical and administrative tasks.

  • Assist in organizing workshops, meetings, and training sessions with external partners.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in International Relations, Development Studies, Public Administration, Political Science, or another related field.

  • A first-level university degree with additional relevant work experience may be considered.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in partnerships, public policy, resource mobilization, or program coordination.

  • Prior experience with government institutions, humanitarian organizations, or development agencies is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of WFP’s operational context in the Sahel or similar humanitarian settings is an advantage.

  • Experience in reporting, monitoring, and documentation within a complex humanitarian or development context is an advantage.

Language Skills:

  • Fluency in French

  • Proficiency in English

Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of partnership management, policy analysis, and resource mobilization.

  • Strong writing and analytical skills for proposal development, reporting, and documentation.

  • Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with WFP systems (e.g., WINGS, COMET) is a plus.

NICE TO HAVE:

Experience in Humanitarian or Development Programming: Familiarity with food security, emergency response, and resilience-building programs, particularly in the Sahel region or similar complex, humanitarian contexts.

Government Engagement Experience: Understanding of government structures and processes in Burkina Faso or similar environments, with experience in facilitating government partnerships or coordinating with public institutions.

Cultural Awareness: Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural settings, with a sensitivity to local customs, governance structures, and socio-political contexts.

Experience with WFP Systems: Familiarity with WFP's operational tools (e.g., WINGS, COMET) or similar platforms is an advantage.

Project Management Skills: Basic knowledge of project management methodologies, such as PMP or Prince2, to support the coordination and monitoring of initiatives.

Technical Skills in Food Security Monitoring: Exposure to or understanding of food security assessments, data collection, and analysis tools used in humanitarian programming.
