Organizational Setting
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) contributes to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through the FAO Strategic Framework by supporting the transformation to MORE efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agrifood systems, for better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life, leaving no one behind. The main aim of the FAO Country Offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments in developing policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources sustainably.
The FAO Representation in Cambodia is based in Phnom Penh, and there are several Offices based in provinces throughout the country.
Reporting Lines
Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative and the direct guidance of the Communications Specialist, in collaboration with relevant FAO colleagues, the incumbent will be responsible for executing the assigned tasks within the communications unit.
Technical Focus
The Technical Assistant (Multimedia) plays a key role in producing high-quality photography, video content, and multimedia materials, ensuring visually engaging and consistent communication products across FAO Cambodia's six programmatic thematic areas.
Tasks and responsibilities
• Capture professional-standard photographs and video content that are well-composed, creative, and informative, following FAO’s guidance and specified itineraries.
• Design essential communication materials, such as flyers, event branding assets, and content for social media platforms.
• Provide support to the communication unit in organizing and executing events effectively.
• Demonstrate proficiency in multimedia editing using tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, and InDesign).
• Coordinate the setup and management of audio-visual equipment/branding materials for meetings, workshops, and public events to ensure seamless presentations and technical support.
• Maintain a digital archive of multimedia assets, ensuring proper labelling, organization, and accessibility for internal use.
• Create and maintain a comprehensive inventory of visibility and branding materials, ensuring efficient tracking and optimal utilization.
• Ensure compliance with FAO’s branding and visual identity guidelines across all media and communication materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand communication needs and provide innovative multimedia solutions.
• Develop and assist in managing and enhancing FAO Cambodia’s social media presence to boost audience engagement and reach.
The objective of this specific aspect of the role is to create the digital space for engaging with the public, civil society, the international community and other relevant stakeholders on topics related to agrifood systems and shaping the discourse around the four betters, leaving no one behind
• Collate information and develop appropriate digital assets, in line with global FAO key messages, terminology, standards and guidelines, and day-to-day management of thematic/regional/country social media channel(s), https\://twitter.com/FAOCambodia/ https\://www.facebook.com/FAOCambodia , as per the FAO social media guidelines and in support of country/regional/global strategies, liaising and coordinating with the relevant technical officers, Regional Communication Officers (RCO) and OCC, as appropriate, and relevant supervisor for clearance.
• For videos intended for use on social media channels, liaise with RCO and OCC to review scripts, formats and final clearances.
• Adapt into Khmer digital assets to ensure maximum reach and amplification via social channels.
• Ensure that all communication products comply with global FAO key messages, terminology, standards, and guidelines.
• Maintain regular coordination with RCO and OCC, including to ensure key messages, outputs and products are shared via global multilingual channels, as appropriate.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, mass media communication, or a closely related field is desirable
• 2–3 years of experience in developing audio-visual content across various sectors, with a particular focus on the development sector
• Working knowledge of English and fluent in Khmer

Technical/Functional Skills
• Expertise in photography
• Experience in video production and post-production, duplication techniques in all standards and formats; ability to set up professional shooting/lighting and editing environment; ability to troubleshoot technical problems on the spot as they relate to filming and editing video/audio equipment
• Knowledge of mechanical and electronic operation of all ENG and studio audio and video equipment
• Knowledge and experience in meeting post-production video requirements
• Experience in video production including research, pitching, scripting, filming and digital video editing in a studio setting as well as in the field
• Experience in producing content for broadcast media, digital and social media
• Excellent knowledge of video editing using Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, CapCut and Canva software
• Skilled in operating video production equipment, including cameras, audio capture devices, drones, and GoPro
