The Role:
WFP Requires two helpers in Kabul to support site maintenance services in providing cleaning, laundry, basic garden maintenance, porter duties and other related manual work, to ensure WFP premises are well-organized, kept in a clean & hygienic condition and are
in compliance with the established standards.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Perform basic maintenance of outdoor/indoor environments, to keep them clean, well- organized and in a good condition.
2. Provide support in loading/offloading and moving office equipment, furniture, baggage, and other items for efficient site maintenance services.
3. Assist in loading, off loading and dispatch of ICT equipment, NFI store assets and coordinates movements between the office, warehouse NFI stock and delivery to UNHAS.
4. Assists in physical count
5. Perform cleaning functions as required, including washing, sweeping, dusting, vacuum cleaning, and polishing.
6. Keep office rooms and bathrooms/toilets clean and hygienic.
7. Supervises contracted helpers and cleaners of the assigned office facilities.
8. Assist the storekeeper in receipt of non-food items in stock as well as their dispatch to the field locations.
9. Escort visitors to/from the reception and main gate.
10. Assist in facilitation and arrangement of refreshments for official events (Meetings, Trainings, and workshops).
11. Assists in receipt, delivery, and offloading of drinking water from the supplier and maintains hygiene and maintenance of office water dispensers.
12. Carrying and delivery of WFP Official letters and documents to the various offices, diplomatic entities, and government offices.
13. Assists in binding & copying of official documents as required.
14. Carries various office assistant tasks as assigned.
15. Carry office disinfecting as required.
16. Assist Facilities Team in various related assigned tasks.
17. Perform any other duties as required.
Education:
- Completion of high school education.
Experience:
- Minimum one year of relevant experience.
Language:
- Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and local languages (Pashto/Dari).
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of basic equipment and use of cleaning materials/solutions.
- Technical knowledge in fixing basic office equipment and site maintenance works.
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment and supplies related to work in a good working condition.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and meet the deadlines.
- High sense of responsibility and initiative.
- Punctuality, honesty and integrity.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Fluency in English Language
- Technical expertise in site maintenance works, electrical, plumbing and maintenance services will be an added value.
