Background

GCF relies on Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP to manage its core finance and procurement processes. The organisation requires a dedicated functional consultant to provide continuous support and improvements for its Finance and Procurement modules to ensure optimal system performance and alignment with evolving business needs.

 

Objectives of the Role

The primary objective of this role is to provide business-as-usual (BAU) support for Oracle Fusion Finance and Procurement modules. The consultant will address system issues, optimise processes, support end-users, and implement minor enhancements to ensure seamless operations across finance and procurement functions.

 

Key Responsibilities

The Oracle Fusion Functional Consultant will:

1.  System Support and Issue Resolution:

  • Provide day-to-day support for Oracle Fusion Finance and Procurement modules.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues on time to minimise disruption.
  • Work with Oracle Support to escalate and resolve critical incidents.

2.    Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for process enhancement and system optimisation.
  • Implement approved changes, ensuring compliance with business and regulatory requirements.

3.    Month-End and Year-End Support:

  • Assist finance and procurement teams during critical periods such as month-end and year-end closures.
  • Ensure system processes run smoothly, including reconciliations, reporting, and transaction processing.

4.    User Training and Support:

  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on Oracle Fusion functionality and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain user manuals, FAQs, and other training materials.

5.    Reporting and Data Analysis:

  • Support users in generating accurate financial and procurement reports using OTBI, BI Publisher, or other Oracle reporting tools.
  • Assist in data analysis to support decision-making and performance monitoring.

6.    System Configuration and Minor Enhancements:

  • Perform minor configurations and setups in Oracle Fusion modules as required.
  • Test and deploy system updates, patches, and new features provided by Oracle.

7.    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Liaise with IT, vendors, and other business units to address integration and system-related requirements.
  • Provide functional input for larger projects impacting the finance and procurement functions.

 

Deliverables

  • Resolved tickets logged in the support system, with root cause analysis and resolution details.
  • Updated system configuration and minor enhancements aligned with business requirements.
  • Accurate and timely monthly and annual reports from Oracle Fusion.
  • Comprehensive user training sessions and up-to-date documentation.
  • Continuous process improvement recommendations with implemented changes.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Oracle Fusion Functional Consultant, with a focus on Finance and Procurement modules.
  • Strong understanding of business processes in accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, procurement, and supplier management.
  • Hands-on experience in system configuration, troubleshooting, and user support.
  • Proficiency in Oracle reporting tools such as OTBI, BI Publisher, or FRS.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Certification in Oracle Fusion Cloud Finance and Procurement modules.
  • Familiarity with integration tools and technologies.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

 

Reporting Line
The consultant will report to the Financial Management Systems Specialist and work closely with the finance and procurement teams.

 

Terms and Conditions

  • Any travel required for the role will be reimbursed per organisational guidelines.
  • Performance will be reviewed periodically to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
