About this position

The Treasury Division is seeking a committed, dynamic, and collaborative professional to join our team in the role of Consultant within the Treasury’s Investment team (INV). This position will provide support for the asset management services offered to central banks and official institutions participating in the IDB’s Capacity Building, Asset Management & Advisory program (CAsA). As a consultant, you will play an important role in supporting portfolio management tools, activities and engaging in client relations tasks.

You will work in the Investments Group of the Treasury Division, part of the Finance department. This team is responsible for managing the Bank’s liquid assets investment portfolio, trust funds, and assets under the CAsA program. Investments are focused on high-grade fixed income securities.

What you’ll do

  • Provide support for portfolio management activities, including research on eligible fixed income markets, evaluating the feasibility of potential investments and monitor current investments.
  • Develop and maintain analytical tools and solutions that supports the portfolio management service for the CAsA participants.
  • Collaborate creating training materials on asset management and financial asset markets that supports the capacity building program for CAsA participants
  • Design, generate and review portfolio reports, utilizing existing systems and available data to provide valuable insights for the IDB and CAsA participants.
  • Assess and respond to inquiries from external clients related to portfolio management, maintaining effective communication and addressing periodic and special requirements.
  • Undertake additional research and analytical tasks, as directed, to support INV's general functions.

What you'll need

    Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. An equivalent number of years of professional experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree, if the experience directly aligns to the aforementioned areas of discipline.

•    Experience:At least 5 years of experience in fixed income markets and/or portfolio management.

•    Languages:  Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

•    Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
    

•    Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
 

Type of contract and duration

•    International consultant Full-Time, 24 months (up to 36 months).
