Your team
- Our team of around 10 members of staff is responsible for keeping ECB colleagues up to date on various internal and ECB-related topics, encouraging open dialogue. We do so by writing, editing and producing content in various formats (e.g. intranet articles, vlogs, infographics, presentations), organising events and providing communications advice to colleagues across the institution.
- One of the tasks of the team is media monitoring. We monitor media coverage of the ECB and analyse reactions to the ECB’s own media activities. We also act as the ECB’s news desk, following the daily news on ECB-related topics, identifying relevant news reports and sharing them with colleagues across the institution, either as written text or in live presentations. In our work, we aim to single out issues raised in the media and spot communications challenges.
Your role
- continuously monitor and analyse economic and other news from various media sources across Europe and share key items with ECB management and staff;
- regularly prepare and present ECB-related and economic news in the daily meetings of the Directorate General;
- analyse media coverage of the ECB’s media activities and write media coverage reports for the ECB’s management.
- write, edit and produce content, including intranet articles;
- contribute to the regular collection and analysis of measurement data;
- produce audiovisual material (e.g. vlogs, infographics, images, presentations);
- help to design, prepare and deliver small and large-scale internal events, liaising with other ECB colleagues.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- a bachelor’s degree or higher in economics, finance, international relations, politics, journalism or another relevant field;
- a solid understanding of macroeconomics gained at some point during your studies;
- a basic understanding of monetary policy, the ECB, and its main tasks and tools;
