Internships The IAEA accepts a limited number of interns each year. The internships are awarded to persons studying towards a university degree or who have recently received a degree (see Internship web pages for further details). Organizational Setting The Division of Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Waste Technology (NEFW) comprises the Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Materials Section, the Waste Technology Section, the Decommissioning & Environmental Remediation Section and the Research Reactor Section. The Division seeks to support Member States in building their capacity to access technologies, to share good practices and to develop safe and effective approaches across all aspects of research reactors, nuclear fuel cycle, decommissioning, radioactive waste management and environmental remediation. Main Purpose The main purpose of the internship is to provide updates to the International Catalogue of Sealed Radioactive Sources (ICSRS), upload and properly tag data, and to review source and device manufacturer information and provide updated photos and information to the ICSRS. Other tasks to support the DSRS team projects. Functions / Key Results Expected • Obtain new information including and photos/drawings on existing sources and devices by contacting source and device manufacturers. Qualifications and Experience • University degree in engineering or any sciences. Applicant Eligibility • Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree. |
