Job Description
Responsibilities
• Deliverable 1: Interviewers training summary Report: A detailed report identifying and summarizing training of interviewers involved in conducting community vaccination hesitancy surveys in Greater Cairo and Alexandria.
• Deliverable 2: Summary report of interviews: report summarizing the interview process and describing individuals interviewed in the community assessment for measles vaccination hesitancy.
• Deliverable 3: Comprehensive Community Assessment Report: A report analyzing data collected from the community assessment; including findings on vaccine uptake, confidence, and barriers among target migrant populations.
• Deliverable 4: Stakeholders interview report: A report analyzing data collected from the stakeholders’ interviews; including data analysis, insights, and major findings.
• Deliverable 5: Roundtable Event Report: Documentation of a roundtable discussion with ministries, UN agencies, and other stakeholders. This includes a concept note, agenda, participant list, and a summary of outcomes, policy recommendations, and proposed strategies to strengthen vaccination inclusion for migrants and refugees in Egypt.
• Deliverable 6: Human-Centered Design (HCD) Intervention Blueprint: A strategic plan for interventions developed through HCD principles to enhance vaccine confidence, demand, and access among Syrian and Sudanese populations. The plan includes concept note, agenda, summary report of HCD workshops, and implementation plan.
• Deliverable 7: Capacity-Building Workshop Materials: Training content and resources to build capacity among CBOs, health sector stakeholders, and migrant community leaders.
• Deliverable 8: Capacity-Building Workshop summary report:
• Deliverable 9: Updated summary of implementation plan: a report of the project plan from HCD intervention updated with learned lessons and adjustments from implementation.
• Deliverable 10: Final Project Report: A comprehensive report summarizing all project activities, outcomes, and lessons learned, including insights from the community assessment, stakeholder roundtable, intervention implementations, project evaluation summary, and sustainability planning report.
The consultant(s) must maintain the highest ethical standards for research and adhere to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Data Protection Principles (IN/138) and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
Mandatory:
• Advanced degree in Public Health, Applied Epidemiology, or any related field with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience
• Previous experience in surveillance, vaccinations, and addressing public health and migrant health issues.
• Specialized training in migration health, research, or Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) would be an asset.
Desired:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public health, community engagement, or humanitarian settings, with a focus on health projects targeting vulnerable populations such as migrants and refugees.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing health assessments or community health interventions in collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and international organizations.
• Demonstrated expertise in vaccination campaigns, health promotion, or health diplomacy, preferably in a migrant or refugee context.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills with a proven ability to synthesize complex data using tools like SPSS, EpiInfo, and R.
• Proven record of research publications in public health, epidemiology, or related field.
Fluency in Arabic and English (written and oral) is essential.
The consultant is expected to travel within Egypt if necessary, in order to carry out their responsibilities and tasks.
