Job Description
The war in Ukraine, which escalated in February 2022, has led to a humanitarian and refugee crisis on a scale unprecedented in the region since World War II. As of April 2024, almost 20 million people have crossed into Poland from Ukraine since the escalation of the war. Considering the recent influx of Ukrainians to Poland due to the war in Ukraine, the issue of validation of skills and recognition of qualifications became even more important and urgent. As a part of the project “Multisectoral support to reach the most vulnerable Ukrainian refugees in Poland” funded by the Republic of Korea (ROK), IOM will update the content of the website Porównanie zawodów w Polsce i Ukrainie | IOM Poland, which includes comparative analysis of the selected occupations in Poland and Ukraine showing the main differences and similarities.
Project name: Multisectoral support to reach the most vulnerable Ukrainian refugees in Poland.

Responsibilities
Objectives: to update of the content of the website Porównanie zawodów w Polsce i Ukrainie | IOM Poland including comparative analysis of the selected occupations in Poland and Ukraine showing the main differences and similarities. The objective of the website is to provide reliable information for Ukrainian nationals in Poland and for Polish employers and labour offices on main similarities and differences related to requirements to perform the selected occupations in Poland and Ukraine.
Scope of Work:
The consultant will undertake the following tasks in order to update the content of the website Porównanie zawodów w Polsce i Ukrainie | IOM Poland”:
- review relevant Polish regulations, policies, and procedures related to requirements to perform selected occupations/professions in Poland by Ukrainian nationals including, recognition, and validation of Ukrainian qualifications and diplomas;
- prepare updated content for the website in track changes mode;
- consultant in cooperation with IOM the updated draft contents of the website with the relevant Ministries and institutions including professional chambers;
- in cooperation with the Ukrainian consultant/consultants compare the revised content of the website related the Polish occupations/professions with the revised content related to the relevant Ukrainian occupations/professions and further update the website if needed;
- analyze how user friendly the website is and provide recommendations based on the results of the three focused groups with employers, labour offices employees, and Ukrainian nationals which will be organized by the relevant IOM unit in cooperation with the consultant;
- update the content on the website after obtaining IOM approval of the draft revised content;
- prepare the content of the information leaflet (in Word format) for the Ukrainian nationals informing about the Polish system of qualifications recognition and validations, including diploma nostrification.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in political science or social science, international relations, global development studies, migration studies, human rights, law or related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent knowledge of issues and challenges related to the process of nostrification of Ukrainian Certificates and Diplomas in Poland and Qualifications Recognition
- Experience in conducting desk research.
- Experience in preparing reports and presenting data in comprehensive format.
- Excellent analytical and copywriting skills.
- Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision
Languages
- Fluency in Polish
- Knowledge of Ukrainian, English will be an asset
