About this position
We are looking for an a proactive, energetic and analytical consultant to join the Haiti Education Portfolio. As an education consultant, your main task will be to coordinate day to day activities of the Education Portfolio in Haiti and the School Feeding Regional Team. Under the supervision of the Education Team lead, you will work as part of the SCL/EDU team which is part of the Social Sector department. The team is responsible for supporting the development of the Education portfolio in Haiti.
The selected consultant will have demonstrated the ability to (i) proactively lead technical and operational discussions; (ii) engage in strategic dialogue with government counterparts; (iii) understand the particular context of operating in Haiti.
What you’ll do
Preparation: Support Team Leaders in preparing technical cooperations and operations, contributing to document drafting, coordinating with extended team members, and joining relevant meetings.
Rugulation: Assist in guiding Haiti’s education portfolio—HA-L1102, HA-J0006, HA-G1055, HA-G1059, HA-J0009, and HA-G1061—by coordinating with executing units, supporting result matrix monitoring, and collaborating with the extended team.
Analytical Work: Provide inputs for knowledge products (e.g., blogs, briefs) and share regular analysis on program implementation with Team Leaders.
Technical Work: Offer technical support in key areas including: (i) school feeding, (ii) quality assurance systems, (iii) EMIS, (iv) curriculum reform, (v) learning assessments, and (vi) climate resilience in education. Support MENFP in building capacity and stay informed on relevant developments, particularly those impacting Haiti.
Reporting: Prepare semiannual reports for donors (e.g., GPE, EAA), submitting drafts to Team Leaders a week before deadlines. Support initial inputs for Haiti Progress Reports to the IDB Board.
Teamwork: Collaborate with Education Division and Haiti Country Office teams. Participate in meetings and mentor junior staff as needed.
What you'll need

Education: Master's Degree or Equivalent in Management, Project management, Education, Social Sciences, or similar or equivalent

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the international education sector, of which preferably 3 in Haiti

Languages: Fluent in French and English. Haitian Creole a value added

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
