Organizational Setting
FAO Azerbaijan Partnership and Liaison Office, in close cooperation with the government and its in-line Ministries/Agencies, contributes to the sustainable agri-food systems, and supports the government with addressing issues food security, agriculture and rural development, natural resource management in the country. FAO’s technical assistance, provided mainly through projects, includes institution building, development of knowledge and competencies, and exchange of experience among FAO member countries.
Reporting Lines
Under the overall supervision of the FAOR, the direct supervision of the Assistant FAO Representative (AFAOR) and in close coordination with the National Project Coordinator (NPC) and project team (national and international consultants), as well as national counterpart
Technical Focus
the National Specialist for Asset Management Systems will coordinate closely with the National Project Coordinator and project team (national and international consultants). The incumbent will be responsible for delivering the following tasks\:
Tasks and responsibilities
• Conduct a comprehensive assessment of current practices in technical equipment and vehicle management, identifying gaps and areas for improvement.
• Design and develop an appropriate registration system for technical equipment and vehicles using the specified technologies.
• Provide recommendations on best practices for maintaining accurate records and ensuring the efficient management of assets.
• Create a roadmap for implementing the registration and management system, outlining timelines, required resources, and potential challenges.
• Ensure remote access capabilities for the existing software application.
• Monitor the effectiveness of the system and provide feedback for future improvements.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• University degree in a relevant field\: Engineering, Information Systems, Agricultural Management, Computer Science or related discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in designing and implementing management systems for technical equipment or vehicles, preferably in the agricultural or public sector.
• Working knowledge of English
• National of Azerbaijan or resident in the country with a valid work permit.

Technical/Functional Skills
• Proficiency in the technologies\: PHP, Laravel, MySQL, Redis, Docker, or equivalent.

• Experience with UN system is considered an asset
