IFC is recruiting a Senior Country Officer who will promote and coordinate IFC's investment and advisory activities in the country, ensuring the integrated delivery of IFC products and services and maintaining necessary relationships to further those activities. The role requires close interaction with the private sector, government officials, corporate clients, counterparts across the World Bank Group, International Organizations, and key internal stakeholders to develop new business, share information, and support the structuring and negotiation of deals.

This position is based in Accra, Ghana, and reports to the Senior Country Manager.

Duties and Accountabilities:

• Develop and implement, in consultation with the IFC Senior Country Manager, an integrated investment and advisory strategy for IFC activities in Ghana, including country priorities and business targets for key industry groups, and key engagements for IFC with a particular focus on high impact projects, including infrastructure, agribusiness, manufacturing and services, financial sector including SME development as well as investment climate i
• Support IFC business development efforts, provide support during transaction execution and portfolio management closely working with relevant IFC and Bank colleagues, as relevant
• Support various project teams in organizing missions, including maintaining relationships with key clients and stakeholders and coordinating meetings.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen solutions offered to clients by involving other parts of WBG based on a good understanding of the products and project requirements of WBG. Participate in specific activities that may be necessary to develop and implement the IFC strategy.
• Cultivate and maintain high level relationships with key partners in Ghana, including government agencies, private sector, industry organizations, multilateral and bilateral agencies, World Bank, MIGA, CSOs and other partners and represent IFC at key government, multilateral and business function
•  Keep abreast of macro-economic developments that can impact IFC’s activities in Ghana and provide regular inputs to Country and Regional Industry management teams as needed in coordination with the Regional Country Economics Unit.
• Liaise with client and donor partners, and coordination of technical inputs in project design and
implementation.
• Provide guidance and on-ground support in monitoring the progress and impact of projects through
regular project monitoring and evaluation of performance.
•  Develop and/or review memos and briefings for senior management approval
• Represent and provide visibility for IFC including through organizing/participating in high profile events (senior level visits, events, seminars and conferences).
•Supervise under the leadership of the Senior Country Manager the administrative support staff, country office analysts and undertake quality control of key Country office outputs including strategies, monthly reports and briefs.
• Take accountability for client selection, ensure the integrity of potential and develop and maintain
relationships with these companies and identify business opportunities considering IFC’s strategy,
priorities and products.
•  Identify, analyze, monitor, and help address key country and sponsor related reputational risks that may be associated with any IFC engagements in Ghana.

Communicate key developments in Ghana to relevant corporate stakeholders in coordination with the Senior Country Manager and implement appropriate communications strategies for IFC in Ghana.
