Overview of positionWe are hiring a Short Term Consultant in Libya for our client, a major Development Finance
The Institution is seeking to build an investment and advisory program in Libya and maintains an active engagement with both public and private stakeholders. The Institution does not have an office in Libya currently, and its activity in the country is managed from the Tunis office. To enhance its ability to have an impact on the ground, the institution is seeking to recruit a Tripoli-based Short-Term Consultant (STC). The STC will report to the institution’s Representative for Libya based in Tunis and will work in close collaboration with its teams based in Tunis and in other offices in Nort-Africa.
Role objectivesBusiness development:
oConduct ad-hoc market and industry research and associated analysis to inform business development.
oConduct sector and industry players mapping to identify eligible prospects for the Institution’ support (for both advisory and investment services).
oBuild and maintain strong and productive relationships with potential clients and relevant stakeholders including corporate lawyers, financial advisors, private sector organizations, international organizations operating in the field of economic and private sector development.
oReview and prepare various reports, organize meetings and workshops for specific upstream/advisory and investment engagements.
oEngage with public authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
oRepresent the Institution in relevant meetings and events.
oProvide regular updates on political and business developments impacting the private sector.
Early assessment and Integrity Due Diligence:
oReview company information, analyze financials/projections, understand the regulatory framework to support investment analysis for potential leads.
oConduct background checks and integrity due diligence on potential clients.
oGather and process relevant data / information on specific industries, using reliable data sources and perform quality checks on data collected.
Team support:
oSupport the Institution’s teams in preparing and conducting field missions in Libya.
oSupport investment and upstream/advisory team in preparing and implementing investment, upstream, and advisory projects in the country.
oCoordinate and support the Institution vendors in Libya in performing assigned tasks.
oPerform other related tasks as may be required and agreed with the country office team.
Project reportingThe STC will report to the institution’s Representative for Libya based in Tunis and will work in close collaboration with its teams based in Tunis and in other offices in North-Africa
Key competencies·Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English, and Arabic.
·Ability to work flexibly and cope with shifting priorities at short notice while meeting deadlines.
·Professionalism, and ability to work under minimum supervision.
·Strong attention to detail and quality.
·Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills to build succinct and convincing analyses, presentations, and text reports.
Team managementTeam player and strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop effective. relationships within and outside the Institution.
