Title: Business Analyst SPINCO

Contract : 6 months possibly to be extended - full time

Reporting to : Business Strategy Coordinator

Compensation and benefits: MSF practice is to offer the C&B package current in the MSF entity establishing the contract.

By default, the successful candidate will be offered a contract in the MSF office of their country of residence at the time of application.

I. MSF INTERNATIONAL

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural disasters. MSF offers assistance to people based only on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.

MSF International is the legal entity that binds together MSF’s 27 Institutional Members of which 24 sections, and other offices such as Branch Offices and Satellites. MSF International provides coordination, information and support to the MSF movement, and implements international projects and initiatives as requested.

Within MSF International, the International Office (IO) is the Secretariat of MSF International Board and is under the direct management of the International Secretary General. MSF International also provides administrative support to the MSF Access to Product Healthcare (APH).

II. POSITION BACKGROUND

SPINCO (https://spinco.msf.org/) is the driver for effective collaboration across the MSF movement to deliver a central source of trusted product information that enables continuous process improvements.

For its development of solutions and services, SPINCO uses agile methodologies based on Scrum and Kanban.

 

III. PLACE IN THE ORGANISATION

This role is part of the SPINCO team and reports to the Business Strategy Coordinator. 

The SPINCO Business Analyst position will be part of for Business Strategy Team.

IV. OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION

As part of the SPINCO team, the Business Analyst will have the responsibility of the coordination of the activities related to improvements on the SPINCO Solutions or Projects. The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategies to enhance efficiency, productivity and interoperability.

The central solution is UniData, MSF’s central supply article database that details all items available for the field and shares article changes within the Movement. The online platforms of UniData and Unicat give oversight on articles available as resources for operations, in alignment with MSF guidelines and protocols. The UniData platform also covers UniQuality & UniLocal, the MSF Medical Product Qualification databases, and MSL Medical Standard Lists.

The Business Analyst is the focal point for all the different stakeholders of solutions, generally represented by Product Owner. The Business Analyst will ensure that improvements have been identified, documented, exchanged with the developers and delivered in releases.

 

V. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of the Business Analyst covers the solutions improvements/problems and covers the following responsibilities:

  • Identify the improvements /problems together with the Product Owner and SPINCO team

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and where needed the requester, stakeholder to understand their business needs and clarify the improvement request/problem

  • Propose and design process and technical solutions that meet business needs and cater solutions for the improvement ideas/problems

  • Liaise and discuss with the developers on technical feasibility of the technical solutions

  • Manage the Scrum or Kanban boards and backlogs

  • Participate to daily or weekly standup meetings, scrum meetings and other related activities

  • Act as scrum master during sprint cycles

  • Define detailed test plan for functional & regression testing, and test prior to release

  • Participate on the Release Notes and documentation

  • Follow-up with the Product Owner after the release

  • Respond to and assist end users

  • Deliver support material to the end user (e-learning, knowledge base articles…)

  • Lead on data cleansing and data cleaning initiatives, help analyzing & executing related tasks with deep know-how, skills and toolset

  • Configure web analytics to have comprehensive insights into user interactions and engagement on existing and future SPINCO solutions
