Functional Responsibilities
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the project, and will manage the project closure plan and its respective activities in line with UNOPS policies. The main responsibility of the Senior Project Manager is to ensure the completion of the building's remaining activities (detailed in the next sections of this ToR), manage the tasks established for operational and financial closure, and provision of other ad hoc support to the Peru Multi-Country Office (MCO) management concerning the project closure.
The Senior Project Manager has the authority to assign, as per the project closure plan, work packages to team managers and approve deliverables produced by them.

Lead ongoing negotiations with the partner and other associated external stakeholders to resolve outstanding differences and propose targeted solutions enabling the parties to close the project.

Develop and implement a detailed project closure plan with support from HQ functions.

Lead and manage, with the support of appropriate resources, all activities required for the financial and operational closure of the project, including the implementation of remaining works on site, as well as UNOPS’ internal processes.

Lead all activities related to building a functioning project team with all the necessary resources and capacities to handle the work required for project closure. This includes identifying necessary internal positions and managing corresponding recruitment processes.

Effectively lead and manage the project team, including the team of technical specialists, and any third-party entities providing services to UNOPS in connection with the project.

Lead and ensure that project activities and internal processes are implemented in alignment with UNOPS policies.

Provide any other ad-hoc support to UNOPS Peru MCO Director related to the closure of this project.

Coordinate and facilitate communication and meetings with internal stakeholders, including UNOPS management, HQ functions and the Regional Office.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

An advanced university degree (equivalent to Master’s Degree) and 10 years of relevant experience

A first-level university degree (equivalent to Bachelor's Degree) and 12 years of relevant experience.

The above academic degrees preferably in Engineering, Project Management or similar.

Accreditation as a Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer or similar is an asset.

Certification in Project Management is desired, for example PMI-PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMI, or similar is an asset.

The office does not have parking space for employees.
