The Scope
Are you looking for a position where you can support the restoration of degraded forest landscapes and work to redress harms to forest communities and Indigenous Peoples? 
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is looking for a Remedy Manager to join our international team to implement a new procedure to remedy environmental and social harm in the forestry sector. In this role, you will manage the intake and onboarding of clients implementing the FSC Remedy Framework. This includes recruiting local experts, coordinating guidance and technical information to support, and developing systems to implement the remedy procedure. Main Roles & Responsibilities
This position contributes directly to addressing environmental degradation and providing access to remedy for rights holders. The Remedy Manager will manage clients implementing the remedy procedure, contribute to the development of internal systems to support the effective implementation of the remedy procedure, and participate in the socializing of this new procedure through multistakeholder processes and capacity building of different stakeholder groups. 

List of roles and responsibilities 
  • Manage the implementation of remedy processes for different clients from the intake process, to contracting, through to the verification of implementation milestones
  • Coordinate with FSC national offices and international staff
  • Support FSC communications with case updates, developing FAQs, and answering media and stakeholder questions
  • Contribute to the principle of continuous improvement through constructive and solutions-oriented feedback on efficiencies and system improvement
  • Contribute to the development of systems and templates to support clients’ implementation and FSC’s monitoring and reporting of remedy outcomes
  • Effectively prioritize tasks, and contribute to project planning and reporting
  • Work collaboratively as part of a diverse team of Integrity subject matter experts
Your profile
  • Education and Training: 
    • University/technical college degree or equivalent training or experience in a field of environmental science, forestry, geography, political science, data science, law, consulting, engineering, integrity or technology 

  • Working Experience, Style and Skills: 
    • At least of 5 years of relevant professional experience in project management in multi-stakeholder environments 
    • Case management, investigations, integrity and or compliance background is a plus 
    • Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple functions simultaneously
    • Experience in writing, reviewing, revising, and/or editing technical documents is a plus
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
    • Proven ability to plan, organize and complete work tasks
    • Experience with database software is a plus 

  • Language & Communication Skills: 
    • Superior verbal and written communication skills that contribute to cohesive team efforts and decision making 
    • Ability to synthesize complex documents and processes and explain them to others 
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written) 
    • French is a plus

The Fine Print
  • Location: Bonn, Germany 
  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week
  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance) 
  • Travel: Sporadic travel is required
