TW commenced in September 2023 with a five-year duration that extends to August 2028.The goal of the project is to improve holistic learning and well -being of children in the two refugee hosting counties of Kenya. The two counties have documented disparities in education outcomes and lag comparatively behind other parts of the country largely due to challenges of contextual descent.

The project targets all teachers and learners in both the Host Community and Refugee schools in Turkana and Garissa Counties. Overall, the project targets all (100%) Primary and Junior school teachers in the refugee camps and host communities with Teacher continuous Capacity development (TCCD) package, 89 schools with Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) interventions and eligible schools and learners with crisis modifier support in times of emergencies. Apart from MHPSS case management that is the centered in the camps, the entire package will be delivered to all teachers.

TeachWell Project PowerBi Dashboard

TW has a MEAL plan to track performance indicators through projects toward results and other elements of visibility will be assessed from time to time. For consortium level use and commitment to the donors TW intends to develop a dashboard that meets the expectations of various users as a monitoring platform to track progress and inform management action.

To achieve the above requirements, TW intends to have a PowerBi dashboard that seamlessly integrates data integration, transformation and a user-friendly system for tracking progress. The TeachWell Dashboard (TWD) design and operationalization intends to offer a structured solution from data capture, analysis and visualization of progress in key performance indicators.

There will be one Project PowerBi dashboard with differentiated grant level components and drill down functionalities for ease of use. Apart from this, the tool will be designed with inbuilt flexibility for expansion and upgrading in line with project needs and reporting requirements. The process will culminate into stepwise automation of data capture, analysis through use CommCare and Power BI leading to minimal manual input in performance monitoring. By transforming raw data into strategic information, the dashboard will empower TW consortium and donors to visualize results in a simple way that stimulates tracking and learning for management action.

Scope of work

The purpose of the assignment is to develop a functional TW PowerBi dashboard that meets both technical and user requirements. The consultant will work with the MEAL team to design, develop, test and commission dashboards that fully automate MEAL capture analysis and visualization along with pertinent project information.

The dashboard consolidates key performance indicators (KPIs) from multiple data sources to enable program teams, donors and stakeholders to make evidence-based decision-making, streamline reporting and improve program accountability. By integrating data, TW ensures a consistent and transparent approach to tracking progress, identifying challenges and optimizing program impact.

The specific objectives of the task include the following.

The other outcomes are funded by LEGO Foundation, thus the respective indicators separately before consolidation. The dashboard will encompass key performance indicators and others tracked in the life of the project. The role will encompass the design and integration of the system with source data, visualization and access management. The summary activities encompass the following.
