OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The mission of WHO's Health Emergencies Programme (The Programme) is to help countries, and to coordinator international action, to prevent, prepare for, detect, rapidly respond to, and recover from outbreaks and emergencies.
JOB PROFILE SUMMARY
In the context of the WHO Country Office and Universal Health Coverage (UHC) operations, the incumbent will be responsible for the collection of field data, analyses, update, and maintain data relevant to the immunization activities and Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPDs) surveillance to enable country operations to take strategic decisions.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will perform the following, and other related responsibilities as required by the needs of the office:
1.Providetechnical inputindeveloping effective toolsandprocesses tocollect,manageand combinedatapertaining totheimmunization programs and vaccine-preventable diseases.
2.Analyze collected datasets;createmaps,infographics, andothercartographicproductsonaregularandad-hocbasis; inresponse countryofficeneeds.
3.Beresponsible forfielddatacollectioneffortsasnecessary usingdifferent datacollectiontechniques suchasmobiledatacollection devices andapplications.
4. Providetechnicalinputinthedevelopment oftoolstoharmonize datacollectionandprocesses acrossWCOandfieldofficestofacilitate consolidationofinformation.Respondtospecific informationrequestsfromthetechnicalteamsandpartners,ensuredisseminationof information and knowledgesharingwithallpartners.
5.Aggregateandmaintaininformationfromtechnicalteams, fieldofficesandpartners including contactlists,eventspecific information (what,where,who,how many, howquickly,status),healthindicator data,healthsituation data,healthresponse data, etc.
6. Maintain and update the immunization dashboard, monitor trends in vaccination coverage, identify data quality issues, and support regular reviews with Ministry of Health.
7.Provide support in preparing data for NITAG presentations, GAVI reports, and regional office requests

Functional Knowledge and Skills
1.Excellent data management skills and knowledge working with datasets in multiple formalities including shapefile, geodatabase, CSV and XLS.
2.Concrete skills in analysis and complex information system projects, computer-based applications and databases, web-based tools.

Educational Qualifications
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in information or data management or computer sciences or statistics or applied math or public health.
Desirable:
Post-graduate courses in Database management. Training in databases development and/or management.
Work Experience
Essential
At least one year of relevant experience in data and/or information management. Experience in emergency or humanitarian context.
Desirable
Prior humanitarian working experience at field level, with WHO/UN agencies, health cluster partners, recognized humanitarian organizations or with an international nongovernmental organization. Experience in developing countries.
Language Requirements
Essential: Expert knowledge of English and Arabic.
REMUNERATION
WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 28,868 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
