Context

In Benin, IFC's activities are growing rapidly, and include a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from agriculture/agro-industry to logistics, energy, and financial services.
These projects are being developed in a context where:
- The majority of private sector companies operate in the informal sector, making it difficult for them to find financing opportunities.
- The managerial capacities of companies need to be strengthened, particularly in terms of applying the principles of good governance.
- The country's regulatory environment requires a number of improvements to support innovation, particularly in the green economy sector.

IFC is seeking the services of an International UN University Volunteer in Cotonou, Benin, to support the development, implementation, and monitoring of projects in Benin.

Task description

Under the direct supervision of IFC Country Head, Benin, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

- Contribute to the preparation of project, analytical, and strategy documents.
- Assist the Benin country office team with the monitoring and development of IFC investment and advisory projects, including private sector-related World Bank operations.
- Assist the Country Head with the preparation of briefing and outreach materials.
- Support the Benin country office team with business development and outreach activities.
- Assist for the creation, organization, and maintain of databases related to the Beninese private sector and IFC activities in Benin.
- Contribute to the analysis of economic developments and the situation of private investment in Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, and Togo.
- Support the documentation and dissemination of IFC and World Bank products and services to the general public.
