INTRODUCTION TO GGGI

PROJECT BACKGROUND

GGGI, in collaboration with the National Institute of Green Technology (NIGT), Korea Environment Corporation (K-eco), and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), is implementing the ASEAN-Korea IMSWM (Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management) project supported by the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF). Launched in September 2023, the project enhances regional capacity for integrated municipal solid waste management, supporting sustainable urban development and facilitating green investments across ASEAN Member States including Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia, Lao PDR. 

 

OBJECTIVES OF ASSIGNMENT 

GGGI seeks a Communications Consultant to lead the implementation of a communication strategy that enhances the visibility and outreach of the IMSWM project. The consultant will produce high-quality content, manage media channels, coordinate with consortium partners, and support communication around key project events and deliverables. 

The consultant will work closely with GGGI country teams, the communications team at HQ and consortium partners, such as K-Eco, NIGT, and NTU for content sharing and event coordination. The consultant will operate under the oversight of GGGI’s communications team and the IMSWM project team to ensure alignment with institutional standards and project objectives.

Initiate, draft and publish press releases/features (training events, AKIGT launch, best practices) on GGGI, ASEAN, and AKPMT platforms with the objective of ensuring appropriate presence on social media platforms.

  • Develop Project communication materials (such as overall Practice – CE&W brochure, IMSWM project brochure, output specific brochure etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or journalism, with a preference for experience in international development, climate, or environmental sectors 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and video editing tools 
  • Proven ability to produce engaging content across various media platforms 
  • Experience supporting multi-country projects or regional initiatives in ASEAN 
  • Strong coordination and project management skills, especially in stakeholder engagement 
  • Fluency in English
