Functional Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Senior Project Manager the incumbent provides operational support in relation to all grants management processes for the entire duration of the project e.g. determination of specifications, launch of Expressions of Interest and Request for Proposals, evaluation of bids and selection from UNOPS side as well as monitoring and evaluation of bidders' performance, especially in activities listed below 1. Grant Management
2. Financial Management
3. Monitoring and Evaluation- Small Grants
4. General Support

The effective and successful achievement of results by the Grant Management Officer directly affects the overall efficiency of the project implementation and improves the lives of the communities the grant will be implemented in. Timely and accountable delivery of services ensures client satisfaction and promotes the image and credibility of the team and office as an effective service provider in project services and management. This enhances UNOPS’ competitive position as a partner of choice in sustainable development and project services in the country/region served. |
Education/Experience/Language requirements

A Bachelor's Degree preferably in Business Administration, Project Management, Economics, Social Science, Development Studies, Finance, or any other related fields is required or

An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) preferably in Business Administration, Project Management, Economics, Social Science, Development Studies, Finance, or any other related fields is an added advantage.

At least five (5) years of experience in project support, operations support, or project management out of which 3 years in grant management is required
Desirable experience
-
Experience working with civil society is desired.

Demonstrable experience with partnership management and communication.

Experience working in the development and humanitarian sector/working with UN, Donors, NGOs is desired.

Demonstrated ability to conduct financial and budget analysis.

Additional experience of project support functions (finance, human resources, procurement & logistics) is desired.

Strong computer skills, including internet navigation and office applications (Google Workspace/MS Office)
Fluency in English and Russian is required
