Context
This volunteer assignment is supported by the Swiss Embassy in Tunisia as part of an initiative in partnership with the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program to enhance youth inclusion, with a focus on the inclusion of young people with disabilities (2024-2026). Therefore, applications from young people with disabilities who meet the required qualifications are strongly encouraged.
The UNIDO Field Office in Tunisia coordinates and supports a growing portfolio of development programs aimed at achieving Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development (ISID), with strong emphasis on youth and women’s economic empowerment, green and digital transformation, and local industrial ecosystem development.
As part of these efforts, the National UN Youth Volunteer serving as Economic Inclusion Advocate will contribute to promoting inclusive access to industrial development opportunities, support community engagement efforts, and strengthen the visibility and outreach of UNIDO initiatives. This assignment offers a unique opportunity for a motivated young professional committed to social inclusion, economic equity, and local empowerment to contribute meaningfully to the development goals of Tunisia.

Task description
Under the direct supervision of UNIDO Representative in Tunisia, the UN Youth Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
1. Support Inclusive Project Implementation
- Assist in the coordination of outreach and participation of underrepresented groups (e.g., youth, women, rural communities) in project activities and training programs.
- Monitor and report on the inclusivity dimensions of projects, contributing to internal assessments and field reporting.
2. Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy
- Help maintain active communication with local stakeholders, beneficiaries, grassroots organizations, and civil society groups engaged in UNIDO-supported activities.
- Contribute to the organization of inclusive events and advocacy campaigns that highlight the social impact of industrial development.
3. Knowledge Sharing and Economic Empowerment Initiatives
- Support the collection and documentation of success stories, community feedback, and lessons learned on economic inclusion practices.
- Contribute to the development of awareness materials and knowledge products promoting inclusive value chains and employment opportunities.
4. Project Monitoring and Reporting Support
- Assist with the collection and organization of gender and youth-disaggregated data.
- Contribute to project progress tracking, with a focus on inclusion indicators and sustainability outcomes.
5. Contribution to Youth and Volunteerism
- Promote a culture of volunteerism and civic participation by engaging in youth-led campaigns, events, and UNV Tunisia initiatives aligned with inclusive development and industrial empowerment.
