Context

The UN Volunteer will support the implementation of IOM Tunisia’s Diaspora Engagement portfolio, which focuses on contributing to the economic development of Tunisia, particularly that of regions with high migration potential, through the mobilization and engagement of the Tunisian diaspora. Working under the supervision of the Project Manager, Project Officer and National Officer the UN Volunteer will support key coordination, communication, and administrative functions across activities. This assignment provides young professionals with the opportunity to contribute to impactful migration programming and build practical skills in a multicultural environment.

Task description

Under the direct supervision of the Project Officer on Diaspora Engagement, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
• Support in the implementation and reporting of the project;
• Support the organization of workshops, meetings, and events (seminars and training) program and the preparation of their reports;
• Support in the monitoring of project progress and proactively suggest tracking and reporting tools;
• Assist in the coordination with public and private institutions to implement training sessions and coaching activities;
• Support the coordination and follow-up of internal administrative procedures, including payment requests, travel documentation, and project-related correspondence.
• Maintain and update stakeholder contact lists and project databases.
• Support in the preparation, drafting, and design of communication materials such as reports, briefing notes, infographics, and social media content.
• Contribute to monitoring and documenting project activities through systematic filing (hard and soft copies) and data management.
• Assist in translating documents between Arabic, French, and English, as needed.
• Verify invoices and supporting documents, ensuring services or goods were delivered before initiating payment processes.
• Participate in selected internal and external meetings; assist in preparing background notes and drafting minutes.
• Ensure confidentiality and data protection, particularly in managing sensitive information related to beneficiaries or implementing partners.
• Actively contribute ideas on how volunteerism can support programme acceleration and community engagement.
• Perform other related tasks that contribute to the overall effectiveness of the mission and the visibility of volunteer engagement.
