Around the world, the number of missing persons is rising – as a result of conflict, climate change, organized crime, migration and other causes. By some metrics, the world is experiencing the highest number of conflicts since 1946. Conflict and natural disasters, including wildfires, hurricanes and floods, have fueled migration, which in turn has been accompanied by a surge in human trafficking and slavery.
The International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), a treaty-based intergovernmental organization with Headquarters in The Hague, the Netherlands, is seeking an experienced, dynamic and committed individual to join a highly motivated team working on this global challenge. ICMP’s overall strategy is based on upholding international law and securing the rights of families of the missing to truth, justice and reparations.
About the Position
The System/Network Administrator is responsible for managing and supporting the daily operations of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including LAN, WLAN, WAN, and cloud-based services. This role ensures the stability, security, and efficiency of all computing environments across the organization. The administrator provides technical support to WB program staff across multiple office locations, ensuring seamless IT service delivery. Additionally, the role plays a key part in implementing the organization’s IT strategies, policies, and procedures, with a strong focus on maintaining the integrity and performance of the WB program’s IT architecture.
Key responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Information Technology Manager, the System/Network Administrator’s duties and responsibilities will include, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:
- Administer and maintain organizational on-premises and cloud-based servers and services based on Microsoft 365/Azure application/service portfolio (Azure Entra AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams).
- Administering, maintaining, operating, troubleshooting and monitoring system performance and resources of network and cyber security infrastructure, tools and systems such as firewalls, routers, switches, network management systems, ICMP public internet presence, DNS, DHCP, NPS, SIEM, vulnerability management solutions and other related network and security hardware, software and service platforms;.
- Provide ICT subject matter support related to approved software, hardware and services to project -based staff both on-site and remotely.
- Administer of project focused users, computers and services in accordance with global organizational ICT policies and strategy
- Installat, deploy, maintain and administer of program-based ICT related hardware and services in line with IT policies and strategy.
- Installation, deployment and maintenance of organization's approved software tools, clients and services in line with global organizational ICT policies and strategy.
- Create training materials on the use of the organization’s IT services and resources.
- Preforming other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years as Network Systems Administrator – midlevel
- Minimum 2 years in IT Support
- Expert knowledge of Windows 10/11 OS/Office 365
- Experience with and knowledge of Microsoft server environments (including Windows Server, Active Directory, Internet Information Services) and standard Microsoft server services (e.g., DNS, DHCP etc.) is desirable
- Proficiency in providing support using the TeamViewer platform.
- Previous experience working within international organizations is an asset.
- Attentional to detail and the ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
Other Requirements
- Professional fluency in B/H/S;
- professional fluency in written and spoken English;
- Proven ability to interact positively with colleagues regardless of culture, nationality or gender;
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Server/Client OS and Microsoft Office software suite;
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office 365/Azure platform and applications;
- Thorough knowledge of core networking (switching, routing, LAN, WLAN, WAN);
- Thorough knowledge of VMware hypervisor platform administration and management;
- Practical knowledge of enterprise backup & recovery tools (Veeam);
- It is necessary for the position to establish and maintain relationships so that suggested conclusions, recommendations and advice will be accepted and implemented.
- Willingness to travel to hardship locations and work within limited infrastructure and to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings, when necessary.

This is a full-time position with a competitive base salary at L7 level of the ICMP Western Balkans salary scale, generous paid leave and extensive health insurance benefits for the incumbent. The position is based in Sarajevo. This position is not eligible for expatriate allowances.
