The ECD Content Specialist will serve as an advisor and subject matter expert on ECD content, with a particular focus on Arabic-language resources. They will lead the development of new content and the adaptation of existing materials for children, caregivers, service providers, and other stakeholders. The Specialist will also support the review and quality assurance of materials developed by others, ensuring that all materials, whether produced by IRC or partner teams, are evidence-based, contextually relevant, inclusive, and aligned with international standards of quality and cost-effectiveness. They will also play a key role in building internal and external capacity through the design and delivery of training and technical support, helping ensure consistent, high-quality use of ECD content across programs and partners. This role requires a balance of creative content development and rigorous technical quality assurance, with a strong focus on inclusive and scalable content.
Major Responsibilities 
1.ECD Content Development, Adaptation, Review, and Accessibility
•Lead or contribute to the development, testing, adaptation, and revision of Arabic and bilingual ECD and early education content for children, caregivers, educators, and service providers, including print, digital, and multimedia materials.
•Review and assess content produced by IRC staff, partners, consultants, donors, or others to ensure alignment with evidence-based ECD principles, inclusion standards (disability, gender, and cultural inclusion), and sector best practices.
•Develop guidance and monitor adaptation processes to ensure linguistic and cultural appropriateness with the aim of supporting effective use across different delivery modalities (e.g., digital platforms, remote programs, and in-person services).
•Support processes for content testing, piloting, and user feedback to inform adaptation and improvement.
•Integrate cross-sectoral approaches (e.g., Health, Nutrition, Protection, Governance) and inclusive frameworks into content development and review processes.
•Collaborate with technical colleagues across sectors and departments to ensure content reflects best practices in inclusion, accessibility, and client-centered design.
•Maintain a high standard of quality and relevance in all materials, ensuring consistency with the latest global, regional, and local ECD evidence and guidelines, as well as IRC’s internal quality standards and ECD strategy.
•Lead efforts to package existing ECD content in ways that are accessible, user-friendly, and contextually relevant, including organizing materials in centralized repositories and developing clear, practical guidebooks that link related resources and support their effective use.
•Ensure content is developed in adaptable, editable formats that allow for easy contextualization and modification by others without requiring specialized design software or external support.
•Contribute to the development and refinement of content management systems or libraries that facilitate centralized access to and effective use of high-quality ECD content across teams.
•Collaborate with digital, media, and education teams to ensure integration and consistency of ECD content across platforms, tools, and delivery channels.
2. Capacity Building and Technical Support
•Design and develop high-quality training materials, facilitation guides, and reference tools to build the capacity of IRC staff, partners, and service providers in understanding, delivering, and adapting ECD content.
•Deliver online and in-person capacity building sessions (e.g., trainings, workshops, coaching, learning exchanges) to support the effective use and contextual adaptation of ECD content.
•Develop tools and processes to monitor and measure the effectiveness of training sessions and content uptake, and use results to iterate and improve training approaches.
•Tailor training and capacity building efforts to a variety of audiences, including program implementers, technical leads, educators, governmental entities, and health or protection workers integrating ECD content.
•Support content-focused learning and knowledge exchange across country teams, including through technical learning sessions, documentation of good practices, content reflection sessions, and onboarding of new staff or partners.
•Provide timely and responsive technical support to IRC and partner teams related to the use, adaptation, and delivery of ECD content, including inputs into content-related aspects of project design.
•Ensure that all capacity building approaches reflect inclusive practices, particularly related to disability inclusion, gender, and cultural relevance.
•Document and report on capacity building efforts, including training materials, participant feedback, and session recordings where feasible, and proactively utilize and propose improvements to digital tools and platforms (e.g., e-learning platforms and content management systems) to support training delivery, scalability, and sustainability, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.

Desired Experience and Skills 
•Established or growing recognition as an expert in the practice area, at the regional or global level, with a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience designing ECD content
•Demonstrated experience leading ECD content development and adaptation in fragile or humanitarian settings and/or across the humanitarian-development nexus
•Demonstrated experience designing and delivering capacity building on ECD content
•Proven ability to promote and support the uptake of evidence-based practices across teams and partners
•Excellent communication, influencing, and storytelling skills
•Demonstrated ability to influence a wide range of diverse stakeholders internally and externally
•Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment; outstanding business acumen, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required
•Superb interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across countries, cultures, and departments
•Proficiency in Arabic and English is required
•Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Education: Master’s degree in ECD or related fields or an equivalent professional experience background is required.
