Role Summary

The Protection-MHPSS Project Manager leads, monitors, and evaluates MHPSS and Protection activities in North-East Ukraine, ensuring delivery aligns with objectives, budget, and timeframe. The role includes managing and training staff to meet international standards, fostering beneficiary participation, and ensuring high-quality reporting. It also involves stakeholder coordination and contributing to strategy, proposal development, and integrated programming.  

Project Overview

Medair started programming in North of Ukraine End of May/ beginning of June 2022 and beginning of September 2022 in East Ukraine, providing Shelter, NFI, Cash, WASH and MHPSS humanitarian assistance. Medair is currently implementing MHPSS programming in North and East and has ongoing grant/ proposal submissions for integrated MHPSS and protection ( case management and cash for protection) projects.  

Workplace & Conditions

Sumy / Kharkiv, Ukraine, with regular travel to other regions.

Responsibilities: 

·       Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of MHPSS andProtection projects, ensuring alignment with Medair’s strategy, donor requirements, and international standards. 

·       Supervise MHPSS teams and partners through line management,coaching, and regular meetings, fostering ownership, professional development,and team cohesion. 

·       Develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks, analyse data forlearning and strategy refinement, and contribute to new proposal developmentand integrated referral mechanisms. 

·       Manage project budgets, ensuring spending aligns with financial standards, and liaise with logistics and finance staff for procurement and accountability. 

·       Represent Medair in coordination forums, maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, and promote quality standards in all project activities. 

 

Qualifications,Experience & Technical Competencies:  

·       Degree in psychology, (global) mental health, social work, orrelated field  

·       Experience managing mental health / psychosocial / protection/case work projects in developing countries 

·       Good numerical, report writing and administration skills.  

·       Problem solving ability  

·       Experience in the design, monitoring of implementation and evaluation of MHPSS programs  

·       Knowledge and experience of Protection and MHPSS principles,management and mainstreaming.
